However, that ballot unopened must meet certain criteria is the voter is not on the Canada Voter List...yes we have a printed list of the names of every person who has voted in an election in the last 20 years or so. Not on the list? No Id? No problem. Have someone swear for you and your validity. However that ballot can be subject to a challenge by any of the registered parties.

We get very low turn outs. They are still counting the ballots in the provincial election a week ago where the socialist NDP has a slight edge over the right wing fascist dictatorship Conservative party...but then I am neutral.

I've voted all my life here in BC and never had to line up. Never. Where I am now I went in, said 'Hi!' to Elaine and showed her my ID and she sent me down to someone else (who I didn't know) who handed me a ballot and I went behind the cardboard shield, picked up the pencil, ex'ed the ballot and dropped it into the cardboard box.
The only reason for it to be more difficult or complicated than that is to serve someone's political agenda

I guess you are unaware of Democrats zealous opposition to voter ID requirements. When the state of Georgia passed an election reform bill that includes voter ID requirements Kim Jung Biden flew to Atlanta to strut and preen in front of MLK Jr's tomb posing as the great defender of democracy by underming election integrity.

If you ever want to be taken seriously, bring answers or opinions. If all you do is drop in with suggestive, throw away questions that you can look up yourself, you will most likely end up looking like a farcical troll.

While I waited, they tried to call my local voter registration office, and their call went though. Imagine that, a call from an out of area prefix other than our local prefixes was answered...Vote Forward told me they were located in North Carolina. The call was on speaker so I could hear it all. VoteForward gave them my full name, birthdate, and voter registration number, and asked when I would receive my absentee ballot, and according to them I should have gotten it by now, but if I still have not received it by 10-25, to call back.

Vote Forward told them if my ballot was not received by 10-25, they would be reporting my local registration office to the state and federal government.

I would like to share VoteForward number for anyone else having trouble. Their number is 866-687-8683. They can be reached at votefwd.org/vote. Hope this helps others having problems.

I would suggest notifying federal authorities. It appears the State of Georgia tried to stop you from voting. You need to make sure they are held accountable.

What about the people with the skills and work ethics that make those businesses possible? I technically own a mid-sized government contractor, and I'm a Communist. Does that mean you think we should have Communism? What about monarchy? If we had a monarchy the king would own all the land and businesses. Would that qualify him to tell you and me what to do with our time and bodies? What about Affluenza? It happens.

I love our system and the little yellow pencils!

I've had to wait a few seconds while they checked the voter list, a few more for them to hand over the ballot.

I'm still in awe of how they fold it! It seems 1930's but it's incredibly reliable. I have covered elections since 1969 in Canada and have never encountered a problem. There have been long line ups at times.

This election two weeks ago I got a ride to the poll because they moved it from the school it had been at since 1970. I called my candidate and they came and picked me up.

I hated the choice I had to make. The NDP has never been a favorite in BC. And the conservatives are led by a reactionary whose first promise was to close legal injection sites. When I called them they could not estimate how many lives would be lost with such a plan.

They are neophytes and nobodies. One candidate's main promise was to bring back plastic straws. Yeah that will improved grocery prices!

You are suffering from a very common form of Capitalist dogmatism, the belief that a job applicant can just "decide" to go to work at the company or government job of his choice with no further screening beyond that. That's not how it works. People have criminal charges of "stalking" a company filed against them for applying for jobs all the time. If filling out a job application can be illegal for someone, and I nearly went to prison for it, then the government needs to step in and identify a job that that person can do, even if the person is disabled in some way, because people have the right to benefit from our own labor. That is a foundational American idea.

Also, please explain how to get free money to start a business that will support me with no risk every time.

I just checked Georgia's website, and the Ballot I mailed last Thursday has NOT been counted, so tomorrow morning I'm calling VoteForward back and the state. Lying, cheating republicans!!!!

I also filled out a Voter Fraud Hotline on Georgias Sec. of State website, and will call the Sec. of State main number tomorrow. Dirty bastards.

Dude, there are plenty of ways of identifying voters. I've been asked to write political essays as a requirement of voting before because my particular combination of political views is unusual in a sleepy little rural Michigan town like the one I live in.

Communists and Federalists all over Michigan have started working together because it went to a state court whether two such parties that favor strong but specialized central government and an all-volunteer military (Communists favor skullduggery and standardized equipment, Federalists prefer a simple shootout with customized equipment) could seriously be expected to cooperate. Communists favor collectivization of property, Federalists favor asserting imminent domain more aggressively. Communists and Federalists would agree on about 85% of the amendments they would make to the US and state constitutions.

I am also unique in that I will vote for nearly anybody to keep the Democrats and Republicans out of office, other than having once voted for Obama.

I could go on and on about this, but the election workers at the polling place where I voted got where they recognized me (one of them said "He gives off a palpable aura of evil, but he knows what issues he cares about and he has strong and often unique opinions.") and they just didn't feel like hassling me because they knew it was futile.

As a Canadian, you would probably never be allowed to sneak a ballot past the election workers, just because Americans who do bother to vote tend to do so in a coffee-fueled rage, so you would never get past the fanatical attack dog voters grilling each other.

I've seen Canadians try it, and they generally haven't been stewing in their own juices long enough to pass for Americans. We can smell maple syrup and fear on them.

So, no worries about whether your ballot won't be sent to you if you are registered from the opposite party as we don't have to declare our party preference. No one in government knows as it is not noted anywhere on your registration.

I would never, ever, choose to live in a red state. Especially one in the South.

I live in a red state (Indiana) and they so far have been on the up and up and dependable. And both parties are present as poll workers so not sure how one party could get away with shenanigans.

I live in Wisconsin. Republican legislature. We kept getting these misleading referendums on voting at each election. They sound really positive, until you research and find out that it is a referendum for voting suppression.

After the first couple got through, everybody figured it out and started voting every referendum down. The state Dems have been really good about informing everybody so we vote No.

The Democratic Party volunteer door knockers are really good. My daughter rents a granny flat type of tiny house in a back yard. It can't be seen from the street. You have to be really persistent to find her.

A guy showed up at her house to make sure she was voting straight Blue. Nobody has seen any Republicans.

I took a drive around town today counting yard signs. About 5 to 1 for Harris. Almost no signs for Trump. My mailbox is filled with postcards for Democratic candidates. Nothing from Republicans.
