I guess this counts as an "event" thread. It's not about media bias.
The event is the reorganizing of Wisconsin Public Radio programming. I don't like it. I wondered what other active listeners might think about it.
I liked "The Ideas Network". A lot of talk, a little music. I thought "WPR News" would be about the same but with that little bit of music relocated to the "WPR Music" station.
The change was much bigger than that though. Two of my favorite programs had been from Canada. Those are gone. Other programs which I liked are gone. In their place is a lot more Wisconsin-based programming.
I thought the previous balance between Wisconsin news, national news, and world news was good. I thought I was getting plenty Wisconsin news. I don't feel a need for more.
This change has given me the incentive to finally learn about podcasts. I found one of my Canadian programs in a podcast version. Then I branched out to other podcasts. I still listen to public radio, but not always the Wisconsin version. With a phone app I can get public radio from Los Angeles, Minnesota or New York and that gives me a good mix of coverage.
So, anyway, that's the question: If you are a WPR listener, what do you think about the changes?
