I’m a low to mid level collector and just curious if there are any other watch lovers here. I’m actually on a cruise right now and picked up a Tissot Powermatic 80 automatic with blue gradient dial, and an Oris big crown pointer date with a teal dial, both below retail. Anyone else pick up anything interesting recently?

I bought a Pixel Watch 2 a couple years ago for $15 (my medical insurance paid the rest of the cost). It's a pretty good smart watch and it integrates very well with my Pixel 6 phone.

But I wouldn't call myself a "watch nerd". To me, watches are a tool.

I think I'm becoming one. I've been hand wringing over the Apple Watch 10 for weeks. Might make it to the store Wednesday lol...
 
I like fitness watches. I'm currently using a Garmin 120. Works greats. Last for years. My wife does all the watch repairs. She bought a bunch of tools off Amazon and she can open up and replace batteries and watch bands.
 
I appreciate the beauty and intricacy of quality watches.

I don’t consider smart device watches to be the same thing.

(I’ve worn different iterations of the iWatch for years - but I don’t count those as an actual “watch” - more as an easily accessible version of my phone on my wrist 😂)
 
Last year I took my wife out shopping for a Tissot as a Bday present ended up buying this Avi-8 for myself I really liked the bronze color. avi-8-AV-4021-33.webp
 
Just pulled the trigger on the Apple Watch 10. At the door by Wednesday.
