Live updates: Trump says he has commuted sentence of former US Rep. George Santos in fraud case

It's pretty clear from the right wing responses in this thread. MAGAs have no core beliefs or core values. They simply believe in and defend any and all things Trump and all things MAGA. They have lost all ability for critical thinking or even thinking for themselves for that matter.

Yep.
Blumenthal misspoke 1 time saying he was a Viet Nam veteran. And he corrected that.
Every other time he called himself a Viet Nam ERA Veteran. Which is 100% truthful.
While Private Bonespurs compared his chasing women through the nightclubs of Manhattan to serving in Viet Nam.

One time eh?

This is amusing considering later in the thread you accuse others of lying.

lolol

You've never been in Manhattan nightclubs.

The guy was a habitual liar whose lies simply spun out of control, more mentally ill than a person with nefarious intentions. Democrats ruined his life by supporting him just because he was gay and getting him elected when clearly he was unqualified and way over his head. Trump is just trying to help him get this unfortunate series of events behind him and give him permission to move on with his life.
And what about the people he swindled? Trump also forgave the 400K in restitution he was supposed to repay his victims. They're shit out of luck.

Trump, soft and permissive on republican corruption.

He might as well basically say that if you're on his team the law doesn't apply to you.

So, let's get this straight.

Santos repeatedly committed fraud, including defrauding Republican donors. There is no doubt about that; even Chump couldn't bring himself to say that "Santos did nothing wrong." But it's OK to pardon him, because... it makes Democrats mad?

Do you really not understand how that type of thinking is utterly morally bankrupt?
Oh, boy.... that's a good one! The left, complaining about morals! LOL!

Well in all honesty, defrauding Republican Donors isn't really a crime, I mean if we argued that it was then all the Republicans would be facing jail time, and that isn't going to happen.

No, I just don't like the left wing judges that put the Democrat party's demands above the Constitution and the country.
That never happened.
Your hatred for the judicial system because your idol was convicted clouds reality.

In MAGA society guilt and innocence have no real meaning. For many in the MAGA movement, Trump’s perceived role as a cultural redeemer—someone who “fights for us”—transcends legal or ethical scrutiny. Guilt becomes irrelevant if the accused is seen as a symbolic protector of their values, identity, or grievances. That is why Trump can commit any crime he wants to and still be defended to the ends of the earth by his MAGA followers. This belief extends to anyone who is seen to be part of their "tribe" or who is extended protection by high ranking members of the Tribe. Deep down inside they don't care whether someone is guilty or innocent. Loyalty to a figure or movement overrides facts, the legal system risks becoming a tool of affirmation rather than accountability. They see any attempt to hold one of theirs accountable as an attach on all of them and their beliefs and way of life. This way of thinking was the prevailing mind set throughout the South especially during the period that they remember as being when America Was Great. Such Southern thinking dominates MAGA. It's why Trump was absolutely accurate when he said, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters.” We didn't think this was about MAGA and Trump's relationship because MSNBC told us it was. We knew about this relationship because we all saw Trump say it himself. Now we have seen this exact thing play out over and over.

Santos pleaded guilty. It has nothing to do with the judge. This is not a constitutional issue either. It's a matter of defrauding donors. Did he do it or not? He said that he did, because he pleaded guilty.

Try to keep up, you are not even following what I just replied to.
