Think of what SCOTUS has done to the balance of power among our three branches since 2016. The executive branch has seen its grabs at legislative and judicial authority rewarded over and over. SCOTUS has emasculated the lower federal courts as a guardrail against gerrymander abuses by state legislatures. Trump and the three Canadian provinces out West are serious about independence referenda then becoming three new US states. Trump would provide hugely more money than each province can spend to carry this through. It wouldn't be the first time national borders in the world have made major changes.

First Saskatchewan is the birthplace of universal medicare. They cannot exist without federal\Canadian funds. They have no port of their grain and their economy cannot sustain them. They would NEVER sonsider leaving Canada as they can't support themselves financialy - the need federal hand outs like your red states

Alberta is right wing by our standards but NOT yours. Alberta, even with its oil wealth cannot sustain itself as it has no port. There is a separation movement there...the last election drew 8%.

There are no referenda planned in ANY province or territory. Alberta wouldn't think of leaving, Saskatchewan can't and neither has a warm water port for their grain. British Columbia is the engine that drives the west with a third of its population 4th and 5th generation Asian. There is NO discussion about leaving Canada anywhere in BC.

British Columbia is the second largest economy in Canada with 30% coming in energy, including hydro electric power as export to the US.

There is NO drive or ANY support for independence in BC.

I have not posted anything about British Columbia, independence, secession, idle talk about USA statehood and so on. I have said nothing about BC in my posts about Alberta and an independence referendum that is in the federal court being examined.

I have not said there are any plans underway to have a referendum vote on independence in Alberta or anywhere. Again, the Alberta referendum thingy is in the federal court that will say yes or no to Alberta having a referendum.

I have also pointed out Alberta is landlocked which your post fails to recognize as if failed to mention this. Consequently your post is presumptive, preachy and tries to address matters I have posted about -- or not posted about -- that you claim to be otherwise.

In 1972 my buddy and I drove from our visit to Montreal to Toronto to welcome Team Canada home from Moscow and their 7th game victory against the Red Army A Hockey Team in their international one on one only series. This was the Free World against the totalitarian Soviet Russian world. Team Canada, which was drawn from the NHL of Canadians, was the Free World -- rightly and proudly, and we were fully behind you.

My bud and I alternated napping and driving all night. It poured like hell at Toronto City Hall Plaza but there were Canadians and two Americans as far as the eye could see.
