I say no, no one forced him to go there, it was his choice
The problem is that the govt isn't exactly a centralized united force, and you have these various interests working against each other and promoting opposing agendas. And as unfortunate as it is, if we have any agenda in the region, it needs to include the Paks
NO. HELL NO. This individual made the ludicrous decision to travel into this region, and they should be willing to accept the fate that decision leads to. I do not believe we should EVER pay a ransom or place a single US Military member in harms way to rescue a US citizen who has traveled into a region that is known to be hostile to the USA. Doesn't matter whether it's Pakistan, Somalia, or London.
hope he's not holding his breath. His O'ness would not rescue his own ambassador, why should he give a damn about this guy?
Ok, but we aren't debating attacking them, and the dhimmi has no credibility.
You didn't READ the story did you?
Yes I did. I just don't believe there's anything the US Government should be doing for him. He was stupid enough to go into a war zone. He was stupid enough to leave the security of the United States. He gets w hat he deserves. I say that as someone with a cousin who is a security contractor in Bagdad right now.
The guy filling in for Rush the other day said this exact thing. He used it for a lead in to Benghazi...soooo perdictable.
Ask OBL about his creditablity.
Yeah? So what? Half the **** you say sounds like you are transcribing from a Thom Hartmann transcript so what's the difference? We can't use salient points but you can? GTFOH....
The OBL mission, carried out by ST6, (Not Obama with a bayonet, in ninja gear) was not in rescue of OBL hold anyone hostage. It was also not carried out in a hostile area of Pakistan, ie a Taliban lawless sector. But, I will note that your approach is to obviously lock and load and start another war with Pakistan over this guy, and probably blame it on a Republican later.
The comparison to Chris Stevens is apt, in showing that individual American lives really mean little to Obama in these things....If an American ambassador is not politically important enough to even appear to mount any sort of rescue while under attack, then this guy in Pakistan is screwed.
:lamo
That's it? That's all the response you can think of is to click an emoticon? Pfft....What a waste of time.
Not really worthy of a response, if Obama negotiated with a kidnapper the right would go nuts, if he doesnt the right goes nuts, maybe the right is just nuts. As for OBL. Obama was CIC, if the operation had gone wrong we would still be hearing about how Obama screwed it up. It went well and the right still aint over it.

You're saying that you're cousin is stupid for being there and that even though he's there working on US interests, he shouldn't be helped in similar circumstance?
Exactly. He's a former airborne soldier working as a private contractor so he should know better.
Ok dude.
There is no reason for any non military member to EVER leave US soil so far as I'm concerned.

You don't work in international tourism do ya Tig?
But he was working as a consultant on US programs?!?!
Nope, nor would I ever be a client of anyone who does. I'll be 40 in July. I've been outside the US twice in my life; both to Canada as a child. I've been off the North American mainland only once; my trip to Puerto Rico with my fiance this last Sumner. I don't see that changing any time soon, especially since neither of us have a passport.
I've been to Europe, now admittedly, as a soldier in the Army, and today, I would be careful about where I went overseas, but I don't think it's good to say that everyone never travel either....But, each to his own....eace:
You're right that everyone gets their own opinion. I see no need to ever leave the US. Even as a student of medieval history I find no reason to leave the USA.
