What probably pissed them off was the late Pope's acceptance of people who were gay, who had remarried after divorce, et al. Francis wouldn't sanction their actions, but he didn't want to exclude the people themselves.

Leo's mortal sin is likely his open rejection of trump. For cult members, this has got to be unacceptable to the max, the gravest of mortal sins. (Not that there are degrees of "badness" re mortal sins. One is as grave as the next, at least in theory.)

I forgot to include Francis's championing treating migrants with dignity, respect, kindness, and decency. This likely angered MAGA.

I have no idea nor do I care. I am neither Catholic nor MAGA. My non-Catholic reaction to the new pope is that I'm glad he is more conservative than Pope Francis was concerning traditional core Christian beliefs. I think that is what the Church needs

How so? As I've already explained, Pope Francis was opposed to abortion, to gay marriage, to women priests, among other issues. Francis did, however, stand up for migrants - seems to me a traditional core New Testament belief - and promoted not excluding Catholics who are gay, who are remarried after divorce, who have had abortions, etc.

Yes, Francis did have some strong words for vance, but Leo has had some words for trump.
