I just got home tonight and the devil i guess corrupted me into turning on that evil bias fox news.

Laurs ingrham (eek!) Was covering a story about a member of the young turks making controversial remarks.

I googled it to see how any of the supposed unbias news sources were covering it. Apparently they are not covering it all. Where is the nbc, adc, cbs, the NYT, the post, wheres is the coverage by any of these bastions of objective journalism? As far as i can tell they are nowhere to be found.

Whats the deal lefties? Expain, why isnt this newsworthy to objective nonbias journalists?

I never heard of Hasan Piker before today. My life was not made richer for it. It looks like he is just some piece of garbage who wants to make a name for himself by kicking the conservative hornets nest. Posting asinine, cruel things on social media to churn up media attention for oneself is not the best way to live one's life. Or so I have been told.

Hasan has really lost it then again hes just one of those idiot dudebros that think being edgy means you gotta **** on everybody. Then again most twitch political commentators have been *****ing annoying and dishonest. Especially when they only say “i wanna kill x person in a video game” to get around twitch’s TOS.

I had heard about this, and yes. Hasan Piker is pretty much a trash human being.
He's done everything from promoting violence, and terrorism. To just nothing but a slew of personal attacks leveled at anyone who doesn't' share his same ideals.

I don't really care. He's got his own platform for the time being and this will most likely not do anything against him for the time being. Though him calling the man who took Crenshaw's eye a brave solider... seeing as it was a bomb that did so. Is only slightly more off base than the whole "America deserved 9/11 bit.

The only I have with this is that he will get to promote and preach his own hate for as long as he wants, and he'll most likely keep his social media accounts. But if one even remotely right leaning person manages to miss gender someone, they'll have their account banned.

I would like it if Hasan would actually step up to form a dialog with anyone. But he mostly just stands there and demagogues out of almost every hole he has.

He's basically the spirit animal of almost every anti-Trumper at this point.
 

Good question. If this had been a conservative bashing Hillary or Obama this would have made the MSM big time. Lead story. He would be considered a "spokesman' for conservatives. WOW..... liberals can really backpedal when their pants are on fire!!!!! Nothing to see here.....move along.....

The victims of 9/11 did not "deserve" their fate. America as a nation did not necessarily "deserve" the wounds it caused. But to an extent the government brought it on itself. This is called cause and result: think stepping on a rake and the handle flips up and hits you in the mouth. US foreign policy was cited as a direct cause of Al Qaeda's creation. This is not to say that America should have no involvement in the Mideast or should not support Israel, or even the Saudi regime; but how and to what extent will generate enemies. I say again cause and effect.

Now it takes two to Tango: some bearded maniac does not have to go off the deep end because he's given what he sees as just cause. But he was still given cause nonetheless. Humans are complicated and when we step on someone's toes, it comes back to bite us.
 

I am not sure I understand. The headline suggests that what the guy said was far more odious than the actual quote attributed to him. As I understand it, Osama was upset that the US had troops in his “Holy Land.” That foreign policy factor prompted the attack. And if I remember this correctly, the US did indeed withdraw troops from Saudi Arabia after 9/11. That doesn’t seem to translate into “America deserved 9/11.” But as I said, maybe I missed something.

With the benefit of hindsight, we would have fared better had we let the Russian Afghan conflict reach its end point without our interference . So I agree, although we didn’t deserve it, we gave Bin Laden and his Islamic nut bags justification, albeit in their own well washed brains.

You start a thread and then complain that nobody pays attention to a nobody?

You do understand we have this thing called "freedom of speech", and the "left" isn't tasked with policing it.

If you object to his comments, email him and tell him so. I think what he said is reprehensible. But he's a nobody. He isn't an elected official. From the posts in this thread, nobody ever heard of him.
 

I agree with some of this, disagree with other parts. But I will say it is well-written. Hats off sir. Succinct, witty, sharp.

Piker is a minor face on The Young Turks if I recall. He his young - a millennial - and therefore unshackled by many of the restraints some older lefties have. He is not as badly burned by 9/11 as he'd have been very young when it happened and has a tendency to well, as the British would say, "gob off".

Here's Hasan Piker explaining what he meant. Cause and effect. His word choice was poor, he admits, but the spirit of the argument is the same: 9/11 is a consequence of US policy.
