"Workers voted Friday to unionize an Amazon Staten Island warehouse, a historic decision that marks the first successful U.S. organizing effort at the e-commerce giant and a major victory for the domestic labor movement.
Amazon, the country’s second-largest private employer, has long fended off attempts to unionize workers at its warehouse — a highly prized target among traditional labor groups who have seen membership wane in recent years.
But a small, upstart independent union led by a former employee of the Staten Island warehouse mounted the first successful campaign to unionize Amazon workers, breaking many of the traditional organizing rules and relying on workers‘ momentum."

Great news. Biden should invite the organizers to the White House for a celebration.
I support them 100%
Unfortunately, the Democratic Party quit supporting unions long ago, and now only offer lip service.
Ask a plumber, pipe-fitter, electrician, AFL-CIO member, Teamster who they support and why.
And no, don't ask Union leadership, ask the members.
That's why Biden should invite the organizers. They are rank-and file workers.
Hahahah sure buddy, it's those darn liberals who hate unions!!I support them 100%

A photo op isn't support for the union organizers, it's a PR move by politicians.
Amazon Avoids More Than $5 Billion in Corporate Income Taxes, Reports 6 Percent Tax Rate on $35 Billion of US Income
The culture wars work on blue collar union laborers quite well.Hahahah sure buddy, it's those darn liberals who hate unions!!
Yyyup. The culture wars work on blue collar union laborers quite well.
It gets them to align with a party that actively works against their interest instead of with the party that treats them benign neglect.
I can tell you who they support.. and I have no idea why.
Because Democrats turned their back on us. That's why.
There's more money in supporting corporate interests.
It's benign neglect from the Democrats versus the active destruction from the GOP.Because Democrats turned their back on us. That's why.

I will take benign neglect.
"Us"?
Enjoy the active destruction.Ahh, the lessor of two evils.
You know what that ensures? That evil will always be in power.
Enjoy your "benign neglect".
Yep. I'll always align with union workers, always have.
I come from blue-collar working class, grew up in a large D-family.
What they've become is a shitshow.
Prove it.
Why do you vote against your own economic interests?
Enjoy the active destruction.
To most people that is worse.
Prove it.
I'm making more money and bene's than ever.

Executives and management have things like non-compete and non-solicit clauses, and must divulge their contract with a prospective new employer. Some clauses restrict your ability to work in the same field in the same geographic area (say 50 miles). You want all of that for all employees? This is very good news.
All of amazon non management and executive workers should be unionized.
Same with walmart and other big employers.
Executives and management have contracts with the owners, why should the other workers be denied the same right to have a contract with their employer?
We need more people in unions in this nation.
