When you have "leaders", in the inner city, such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson promoting a victim mentality and disparaging the brilliant analysis and prescription of Bill Cosby and John McWhorter and others, then there is a lot of cluelessness.
I in no way mean that all of the black committee, if you could even narrow it down to one, feel the same way, but there is broad support for victimhood.
If you are from the inner city, joined the service, got a college degree, then you have escaped it and I congratulate you. You are the exception.

OK, what does wealth distribution have to do with the high rate of unemployment among black males?......
I really don't have time to get into it, but your statement reeks of how blacks are victimized by wealth distribution....
Actually I am the rule, not the exception.
I wish the media would stop portraying us a helpless idiots. Many I know from school did as well or better than I. You never hear about us to much. Would not make for good news.
If that's true and you are the rule, then that is immensely newsworthy.
I am under a false impression that inner-city kids see drug dealers and hip-hop stars and athletes who can't read as their role models and usually the drug dealership is most readily accomplished, then they are into gangs and violence and juvie, and adult crime and prison and back to the projects earning welfare.
I agree that the media should stop portraying you as helpless idiots. I occasionally watch a program of blacks in America and the success stories are way out of balance with the distress stories.
It is. Black females are leaving the males in the dust as well. They are doing it by leaps and bounds, but you never hear about it.
Most of those athletes now days have good college educations. Why do you think they can't read???
Seems to me you spent allot of time attributing only the worst case scenario to blacks.
It's Wal-Mart's ****ing fault because they don't have better security on their PA systems.Looks like Wallyworld will have to lock up PA system for now on.:3oops: Wonder how many will still blame WalMart?
That's great! I actually knew that university enrollment for black women was way up.
You got me on this one. Bad generalization. I do that a lot. Most athletes, black and white, struggle with academics, but schools have gotten better. I am from NC and the school there that excelled was Duke. Their players REALLY got an education.
Only because we have been focusing on where many blacks fall short. I went to a small college and studied Physics. We graduated 5 in my senior class. 2 of them were black women that rock in Physics! My first job after college I worked with a preachers daughter from SC and she was totally together. My boss' boss is a retired Marine Corp Colonel. I have known a lot of bright, talented blacks in my life so far. You are another.
I have also run across a lot of victimized blacks. They are usually Democrats.
So... if you sort of knew all this already, why have you been making these preposterous and offensive racist blanket statements?
Nice of you to drop by again, after ignoring my other posts on your claim that blacks are victimized, in order to proclaim my statement as racist.
Well, you know, prove it. What is racist about it? I speak the truth. Hard to swallow for you victimizing liberals.
Who said anything about victimization? I commented on your "per capita" comment only. Now if you have evidence to prove me wrong, let it fly. Otherwise the only one playing a victim here would be you.

Some people thought it was funny, oh well so what? They'll laugh at anyone being offended. Assholes.
Now about that being offended bit. I fail to see how the black people in the store being offended translates to them being victims. Someone being offended does not make them a victim in my book. I notice 1069 has failed to respond to any post questioning her wild claims. I guess you know when you are holding an indefensible position.
I originally posted "hear, hear", when I meant the opposite.
I condemn your characterization. Black people in the store were "victimized" by a racially-based prank.
Apparently, criminal charges are being brought against the juvenile offender, and rightfully so.
I agree with 1069's position.
Per capita means little when you look at wealth distribution in this country. :doh
Obviously the first definition does not apply in this case...I hope.Main Entry: vic•tim
Pronunciation: \ˈvik-təm\
Function: noun
Etymology: Latin victima; perhaps akin to Old High German wīh holy
Date: 15th century
1 : a living being sacrificed to a deity or in the performance of a religious rite
2 : one that is acted on and usually adversely affected by a force or agent <the schools are victims of the social system>: as a (1) : one that is injured, destroyed, or sacrificed under any of various conditions <a victim of cancer> <a victim of the auto crash> <a murder victim> (2) : one that is subjected to oppression, hardship, or mistreatment <a frequent victim of political attacks> b : one that is tricked or duped <a con man's victim>
Please.......
Any charge will be a trumped up one so that the 'victims' can feel jusified in their 'moral outrage'.....
I suppose he should get life in prison, so the 'victims' can heal.....
There is so much BS flying, I want to donate to his defense fund........
What is the source of the data for those graphs?Try this: Economist's View: Black and White Unemployment Over Time
Do you dispute these charts?.....
This entire statement is disgustingly racist.

Per capita says that as a pecentage there are far more blacks on welfare & unemployment than any other category.......
I could be wrong about unemployment as one must first work to be eligible....
Clearly you are unable to support your calling me and my statement racist. You best think twice before making that claim in the future. It shows you for the disgusting crappy partisan apologist reactionary that you are.
From your own statistics...
"4.The gap follows the trend. When unemployment rises, for example, the gap rises indicating that the black unemployment rate rises faster than the white rate during recessions."
I wonder why that is?
Your argument is racist and pathetic. Then defeated by your own source.
Give it up.
Less valuable workers are let go first would seem to be the plausible explanation.....
