NONSENSE. Then why not "target" ALL hit by the recession instead of zooming in on "people of color"? You would go ballistic if a congressional group targeted "white people" for special HELP, yet feel all warm and fuzzy when it is reversed. Get real!
what would that be based on?
not at all, groups like the NOI are very visible in a number of AA communities and are seen as community leaders in many instances
maybe I'm misreading your statement, or failing to understand the context it was presented in (and if I am, I apologize), but there are certainly racist organizations within the African american community that do more than simply "cook out"
Empirical studies. Look them up: they cover everything from university acceptance rates of blacks from the 1900s through the 1960s to voter disenfranchisement, to sentencing rates etc.
[/quote]Visibility =/= acceptance. If that were so I could just as easily claim that racism is acceptable in the Republican party as far right racists tend to also be Republican/Conservative.

Say what you want about methods and beliefs, but at least militant black orgs. actually had/have a legit. ax to grind.
I don't think weariness from having to hear people moan about genocide, crimes against humanity and involuntary servitude is much of a beef, but that's just me drinking a latte and flying over the heartland kind of thinkin..
what do you mean by "generational traction"? And while I agree these groups are usually sidelined within mainstream american culture, the same situation hardly exists within the african american community itself. Where these groups are readily visible and generally accepted
It's a puzzle to us all why people in the african american community think they have to band together to oppose white racism. What's the matter with those folks?:lamo
what would any of the above have to do with actually substantiating your claim?
Your attempt at drawing a paralleled doesn't really work. 1) because I am pointing out that these individuals "are very visible in a number of AA communities *and are seen as community leaders in many instances*" 2) I'm not saying people are racist for simply sharing political views with them (as with your example above), but that they are openly tolerated within these communities, and often play prominent rolls within them.
please show how the CBC exclused white people.
please show how the CBC believes that black people are superior.
Quite simply, Rep. Cohen will have to accept what the rest of the country will have to accept—there has been an unofficial Congressional White Caucus for over 200 years, and now it's our turn to say who can join 'the club.' He does not, and cannot, meet the membership criteria, unless he can change his skin color. Primarily, we are concerned with the needs and concerns of the black population, and we will not allow white America to infringe on those objectives.
...displaying superiority of blacks...
Now you're being purposely obtuse.
And I'm responding that that is utter nonsense.
What is the purpose of this post? To deny that whites kept blacks in bondage for 200 years in this country and then kept them legally as second class citizens for another hundred years? You're the one who wants to equate the Congressional Black Caucus with 300 years of institutional racial oppression of blacks by whites.
And just for the record, we became an independent nation in 1776. Slavery continued for another 90 years and was only ended by a Civil War. Then we allowed instituional racism to flourish for another hundred years. I'm not sure we can blame anybody but us for that, no matter how hard you try.
Congratulations on an intellectually dishonest effort.
When I try to go there I get this warning:See post #59.
Look...if you are guilty of something, **** you, shame on you, and make amends. If not, grow the **** up and get off the cross. There are tons of better use for the wood.
Bill Clinton was our first black president. The one term Marxist flexible president Barrack Hussein Obama is our first Halfrican-American....Reparations or affirmative action are NOT equal treatment under the law, no matter how you try to "justify" them. In a nation led by a mixed race president, elected by a white majority, it is perhaps time to bury the hatchet of "racial politics" and move on.
This is just an excuse...nothing more.I wouldn't call that racist as it is not motivated by racism.
There is a difference in focus on issues that disproportionately affect people of certain races and the believe that a particular race is better or worse in their level of ability, intelligence, humanity, etc.
Bill Clinton was our first black president. The one term Marxist flexible president Barrack Hussein Obama is our first Halfrican-American.
It is so hard to distinguish the difference.
Did you find that inacurate?Don't you love how LIBERALS always play the race card?
I just did.please show us where the CBC believe in the racial superiority of black people.
I just did.
question for you...
are white people superior, inferior, or equally capable ( in comparison to black people) of seeing to the concerns of the black population (in terms of policy)
Did you find that inacurate?
I thought it was perfectly accurate. Why do you think it is "the race card"? Was I implying anything untoward about the races?
Or do you just take offense because you wished you were the first to type it here?
And you I am sure have seen my opinion of those people as well. Good lord...its 2012 folks. There's also the fact that these people in the OP will be burning it. That's a good reason to get off the cross.
And you I am sure have seen my opinion of those people as well. Good lord...its 2012 folks.
