Equating black racism with the white racism that infected this country for 3 centuries and continues to this day, and which led to the oppression and subjugation of an entire race is stupid beyond belief.....
I am just wondering if you think the Black Panthers are a violent hate group too.
According to National Field Marshal for the New Black Panthers King Samir Shabazz:
•“I love white-on white-crime, because that is the best crime.”
•“I hate the g*ddamn white man, woman, and child, grandma, aunt, uncle, Pappa Billy Bob, and whoever else.”
•“You should be thankful we’re not running around here hanging crackers by nooses and all that kind of stuff — yet, yet, yet”
•He has a “wet dream about killing the g*ddamn cracker.”
•“We don’t allow faggots and lesbians” in the New Black Panther Army
•Envisions a world where every black person is “ready to bang on this cracker”
•Wants to take over neighborhoods “block by block” so “crackers…or even the developer” would be scared to come into them
•“We’re taught to send this cracker to the cemetery… so kiss ‘em goodbye”

I do. Because racISM simply is what it is. You can be a racist without some sort of power position. You can engage in racism all by your little lonesome self. You can be a racist small business owner and institute policies that are racist and by action engage in racism. The only people invested in citing the powerful majority as being the ones capable OF racism or those invested in justifying and excusing their own racist ideals. It simply is what it is, and if you engage in it...you are what you are. Except maybe those that excuse the actions of a minority group of racists...they are something entirely different. Why would distinguishing between racism by the powerless against the powerful and racism by the powerful against the powerless be a stupid notion? They are indeed distinguishable, as I just did that, and they are different as to effects. Two good reasons the notion is not stupid. Do you have any reasons why making the distinction is stupid?
Luckily, some of us dont have any connection to those pig British ancestors that engaged in the institution of slavery...or...well...for that matter only the scantest connection to African ancestry and their horrid history of slavery and human trafficking (a few centuries? Pikers!). And only marginal connection to the Spaniards...good lord...the attrocities those people have committed over time. And the Germans. Oh...and lets not forget the Asians...some of those douchebags have a REALLY nasty history. Then again...fairly tame when compared to some of the things aboriginal tribes from the Americas did to other native people.Equating black racism with the white racism that infected this country for 3 centuries and continues to this day, and which led to the oppression and subjugation of an entire race is stupid beyond belief. It is generally done by whites who are unwilling to recognize what systematic racism has done to black people. Instead, they bleat on about the Congressional Black Caucus and the Black Panthers as though that's the moral equivalent of two centuries of slavery and another of Jim Crow.
The point is "tolerance"_
All "racial exclusion" is a form of racism yet not all are equally condemned_
The accusation was made that conservatives were defending the KKK. You guys had all day to repost something in this thread where that was the case.

What about those who feel no compulsion at all to dignify breathtaking ignorance with a response?

That silence is simply to teach you an abject lesson as to the meaning of the aphorism "the silence was deafening." Conservatives condone the KKK when they don't take the moment of time liberals do to decry it. When one is reactionary they impliedly condone that which is the natural antithesis of that which they attack, (edit) unless of course they take the second it would have taken to overtly state otherwise.
Let me know when this concept takes.
I don't care if the Klan meets and burns crosses or has a car wash.. or whatever... and goes on and on about white power and evil black folks and such.
I won't be attending such a meeting, but I don't care if they have one.
don't care if black panthers have meetings or BBQ and start yammering on about black power and evil whites either.
I think it's senseless to say one group of racists is bad because of their racism and another group is fine because of theirs.
both groups have the right to be as racist as they wanna be... i only get concerned when thier activities venture into the realm of actual harm ( no, i don't consider hurt feelings to be actual harm)
if ya hate whites.. or if ya hate blacks... whatever, I don't care... just don't put me on your Christmas card list, 'cuz I think you're all assholes.
if you hate one form of racism, but find yourself being tolerant or dismissive towards another... yeah... you're well into asshole territory too.
Ku Klux Klan and white supremacy flags surround the conference, which will conclude with a cross burning
so its just a KKK meeting.
'Those' wouldn't require a response explaining why they weren't compelled to respond...

You missed my point, which was that the either/or construct doesn't work. Example: Either she voted for him, or she voted against him doesn't factor in the possibility that she didn't vote.
Lots of folks just ignore or scroll right past knuckledragging racism and don't feel an obligation to respond one way or the other. That was my point.
Oh, and that not responding one way or the other isn't necessarily proof of anything.

Scourge yourself with loathing and self hatred for the things generations of people across the planet and throughout time have committed. Shame on you all! :lamo
um....these folks are white supremacist racists, KKK-members, who will burn a cross at the end of the meeting.
why should they get our sympathy?
Is it asshole territory to ignore that whites have been privileged and blacks oppressed?
Because black people sometimes get together and have cookouts.
maybe I'm misreading your statement, or failing to understand the context it was presented in (and if I am, I apologize), but there are certainly racist organizations within the African american community that do more than simply "cook out"
Sure there are. What relevance do they have in a societal context? Here I'll explain it to you more simply: Black racism, is sort of a racial version heterophobia (think homophobia in reverse). It exists, no doubt it exist. However it exists in a societal vacuum because it has A) no real generational traction and B) zero relevance.
I get your drift but it still contains awkward and nonstandard word choices. I would also insert a comma after "moderate" and perhaps redact the one after undisclosed. I probably would not use "lean" either. I suppose this is just because I'm from the "obfuscation camp."
Who is powerful? Are all whites powerful? Are all blacks powerless? Why would distinguishing between racism by the powerless against the powerful and racism by the powerful against the powerless be a stupid notion?
