...writing in in the Australian Daily Telegraph, Rebecca Keeble of Humane Society International, a conservation pressure group, complained of the danger to the species from "from illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities".
...Her attack on the former vice-president, and his implied hypocrisy, were rapidly picked up by bloggers around the world.
But the fish enjoyed by the Gores were not endangered or illegally caught.
Rather, the restaurant later confirmed, they had come from one of the world's few well-managed, sustainable populations of toothfish, and caught and documented in compliance with Marine Stewardship Council regulations.
As it turns out, Al Gore really didn't claim to have invented the internet, and along with dozens of other debunked (GOP fabricated) myths about him, he really didn't eat endangered or illegally caught fish.
Curses, (Gore bashers) foiled again!
Al Gore's fish dinner turns out green - Telegraph
I think the whole hullabulloo was already pointed out ad nauseum in the other thread was it not?
Damn you woman, you and your false information busting, causing me to frivolously give you thanks.
Shame on you!!
It was probably nauseating for those who learned Gore did nothing illegal or hypocritical, but I read that thread and it seemed to me that some posters still weren't getting it.
I think it stands to reason that if I order fish from a caterer from their menu, I am going to assume that it is legal and not some endangered species. It is funny to me that because Al Gore is championing the global warming nonsense, the right wing zealots are holding him accountable for ALL environmental issues. It's pathetic really to watch them flail about trying to discredit the man out of spite. It doesn't make sense to me when there are real and important matters to worry about.
Shamefully I fell for this GOP fabrication at first, but hopefully I managed to redeem myself when I found the truth regarding this sea bass over here in this thread. As it turns out, Al Gore really didn't claim to have invented the internet, and along with dozens of other debunked (GOP fabricated) myths about him, he really didn't eat endangered or illegally caught fish.

It's interesting when the Daily telegraph never published any literature from the Humane society international until of course it's something dogging on Gore.Yea, cause this myth was "fabricated" by that raging hard-core conservative Rebecca Keeble of the Humane Society International.

My point is that in the OP's haste to smear conservatives with fabricating this rumor she neglected to consider the fact that the head of an environmental group such as HSI probably isn't a radical rightist.
Oh poor, mistreated conservatives :violin Actually, I did consider that fact, but I was struggling with the wording. Maybe I can clarify to your satisfaction. How's this:
As it turns out, Al Gore really didn't claim to have invented the internet, and like dozens of other debunked (GOP fabricated) myths about him, this NON-GOP FABRICATED fish story is false.
True, this one wasn't fabricated by the GOP, but it was certainly gleefully spread about by them.
Conservatives? Come on, you should know better. The people dogging on gore aren't conservatives, from the conservatives that I've met here and elsewhere, most are pretty adamant about protecting the environment, conservation as well as accepting Gore's message back then on the ozone hole and today on global warming. My point is that in the OP's haste to smear conservatives with fabricating this rumor she neglected to consider the fact that the head of an environmental group such as HSI probably isn't a radical rightist.
