Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
I saw this story on Drudge yesterday, but he didn't have a link at the time and I wasn't about to post it. Glad you found evidence. Very interesting. But I doubt you'll ever hear him answer to this charge.

I just happened to catch a very snooty Melissa Etheridge (and there is no other kind of Melissa Etheridge) was singing her song from "An Inconvenient Truth," and projected on the screen behind her were all these "tips" for reducing carbon emissions.
One of them was something like "always use mass transit or light rail when you can."
I'm SURE both Gore and Etheridge hop on the L-train, as a matter of course.
I'm sure they fly coach, too.

Considering that everyone posting on it was obviously liberal, I would have to say it is a liberally biased think tank. Whether or not you like it, Gore is a hypocrite, if it's such an inconvenience for him to get from one podium to another, he can reschedule, rather than flying private. Otherwise, Would it then be okay for ME to schedule my appointments based on ability to get to them(in my PRIVATE SUV) or should I just tell customers to wait until my bus can get me into the area. So he uses his wealth to enable his disproportionate unnecessary carbon emissions and you fell for that? Should he live by the same measures he wants to impose on everyone else?

The focus of his cause is how much carbon people produce, not how much power they consume. Because of his wealth he has the luxury of purchasing more expensive "green" energy which produces much less carbon than your average coal plant and to purchase carbon offsets. If the whole world ran on solar power, do you think Gore would be out their stumping for people to reduce energy consumption? If you do, you have clearly missed the whole point regarding global warming and carbon emissions. You're point being? You are accusing Gore of being hypocritical. For him to be so would me he is doing the opposite of what he is telling others to do. From what I have seen, he is not urging people to reduce ANY energy consumption. He is urging people to reduce carbon emissions. One way of doing this is by decrease energy consumption that generates carbon. Again, you've missed the entire point of the argument. It's to reduce carbon emissions, not energy use. If we had an infinite supply of solar power with zero carbon emission, who would care how much people use? Use all the energy you want if it's not contributing to pollution, carbon load, and global warming. He has the luxury of paying a lot more for his energy in order to reduce his carbon emissions and to purchase offsets so that his personal carbon load is zero. So yes, it's okay to use your wealth to reduce your carbon load.
