According to a letter the panel sent to the Pentagon in June, the military has spent $11 million on fuel at the Prestwick Airport — the closest airport to Trump Turnberry — since October 2017, fuel that would be cheaper if purchased at a U.S. military base. The letter also cites a Guardian report that the airport provided cut-rate rooms and free rounds of golf at Turnberry for U.S. military members.
Taken together, the incidents raise the possibility that the military has helped keep Trump’s Turnberry resort afloat — the property lost $4.5 million in 2017, but revenue went up $3 million in 2018.

Had the crew needed to make a stop in the U.K., Lakenheath Air Base is situated nearby in England. The layover might have been cheaper, too: the military gets billed at a higher rate for fuel at commercial airports.
One crew member was so struck by the choice of hotel — markedly different than the Marriotts and Hiltons the 176th maintenance squadron is used to — that he texted someone close to him and told him about the stay, sending a photo and noting that the crew’s per diem allowance wasn’t enough to cover food and drinks at the ritzy resort.
[h=1]Air Force crew made an odd stop on a routine trip: Trump’s Scottish resort[/h]
One more, in a growing list of examples, of Trump profiting from being president. In this, military planes stoped at this commercial airport that just happens to be losing money but also is near Trump's golf course. This airport charges higher rates for fuel- - while military airports are easily available, at lower cost. If this airport closes due to losing money, it would negatively effect the ability of golf course guests to fly into the area.
What's not known is whether Trump directed the military to do this. However, the Pentagon refuses to answer Congressional questions on this matter.

Is this one those things we are suppose to pretend we care about?

 I remember some of the press were furious because the President went somewhere without telling until after he had been there.
It seems like the aircraft the President is on should be flown to where ever the President wishes to go. I'm fairly certain it has always worked this way. That said, you could send a letter to the White House explaining to the pilot and co-pilot why they should fly Air Force One where you say it should be flown to. Good luck with that.

Oh the horror... I'm outraged... Bad Trump...Corruption is not something you should be interested in?
Governmental employees using there position to enrich themselves is not an issue. Next bribes will become SOP and America will start growing bananas to match what will become
"Taxpayers are paying a fortune for the use of Air Force One on the campaign trail by President Obama and Crooked Hillary. A total disgrace!" - Donald J. Trump
The problem with your post is that it has nothing to do, at all, with this thread. These were military planes without the president aboard -- which makes everything you wrote moot. I remember some of the press were furious because the President went somewhere without telling until after he had been there.

The use of Air Force One for political and private use by the president is highly regulated. The rule is covered in this citation. Let it also be clear that Trump mixes business and private use of AF1. (Donald Trump slammed Obama for using Air Force One for election campaigning. Now he does the same)lwf said:"Taxpayers are paying a fortune for the use of Air Force One on the campaign trail by President Obama and Crooked Hillary. A total disgrace!" - Donald J. TrumpYes, and some can see that as more than a bit hypocritical. However if you're trying to make a point. Pleas try not to make it seem that you were perfectly fine with such waste, only because the person benefitting (sic) wasn't Trump.
Oh the horror... I'm outraged... Bad Trump...

Why would anyone care about any accusation that 2 far left propagandists and an unnamed democratic staff member make about a president that there is open hostility for, from that side of the aisle? They do not have all the facts yet but tather than wait for them, they rush it into publication assuming the worst about Trump which suits there perferred narrative the best. Why would the folks on the right care that our president is doing his best to keep an airport open that supports his golf resort? After all aren't our tax dollars meant to enrich the president?

Furthermore if the left wants me to take them seriously about these kinds of allegations they need to start targeting the people on the left who are guility of what they are accusing Trump of. If you dont realize that democrats profiteer off of gov services you're naive

Without an explination from the pentagon how does anyone know why they chose to refuel at that airport. Of course that did not stop politico from painting it in the mose negative light about Trump that they could.Oh, so it's not true, it's just more fake news from the crazy left?

I got an idea add this to the least of impeachment charges that the democrats are too cowardly to follow through on. More empty accusations and empty threats from the left and you wonder why your outrage is met with the same indifference the leftbshows to anything and wverything that shines a negative light on them.

This is the crux, which seems to have gone over your head: Trump has a financial interest in keeping the troubled airport close to his golf resort financially viable because it would negatively impact the financial viability of his resort/golf course should that airport close. The implication is that Trump directed military planes for the sole purpose of giving this financially troubled airport business. The military planes could have easily used nearby military bases, saving millions of dollars.
Don't any of you "drain the swamp" Trumpites still care about conflicts of interest or was that just a campaign slogan that you forgot all about? Now, corruption just doesn't matter to you.
1. What does Prestwick Airport have to do with anything you're trying to assert? Unless you can show the air port is providing kickbacks to the resort, you make no point.
2. Providing military members cheap rates for a luxury resort is not a money-making scheme. It's called being considerate.
3. What a fail thread.
A senior Air Force official who was previously stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska — where the C-17 crew was based — said choosing to refuel in Glasgow and stay at a posh property a half hour away would be unusual for such a mission. Typically, the official said, air crews stay on a military base while in transit or at nearby lodgings “unless all the hotels are booked or there is a Scottish sheep festival going on.”
