This thread is going to be my dumping ground for all the AI slop advertising I spot. Sometimes it's just a company completely replacing stock images with AI generated ones. Barely a difference, low care-o-meter. Then there's ones that try to get the audience to engage with the AI, like it's normal, not so big a fan of that. And finally, the trickster. AI being used for straight up scam ads. High care-o-meter. Let's review.

This one isn't directly using AI (afaict), but it is trying to sell AI as something we need in our televisions. I disagree. I don't need AI in my TV, dishwasher or sink. I don't want my TV talking to me or anyone else. If it's upscaling, call it upscaling.

AI ****s up pronunciations and number of fingers more often than Russian election interference professionals **** up sentence structure and historical facts.

Pretty soon it won't. Extra fingers are already mostly a low effort thing of the past. Fingernails are trickier to get looking right.

And voices can be indistinguishable already. Maybe not if it reads the entire Gettysburg address, but for most practical purposes.

None of that is AI.

It's a human using a computer for enhanced imaging.

It's like saying playing Tetris on your phone is AI.

It isn't.

Tell that to the title of the subforum. If you want to debate what is and isn't AI, create a thread for it.
