I have to admit if i could have this rather than someone who ages as badly as i have i would choose the robot(if i were younger). Birth rates to keep going down

Wow, that is awesome. I hope I live long enough to see fake people walking around.

Didnt watch it but I'm all for lower birth rates for humans.

It's all good. People can just buy 8k lifelike dolls to fill the void.

Weirdos.

I'd really prefer they adopt kittens and puppies instead...so many need homes.

I keep telling you guys that homo sapiens are the next neanderthals.

Just think about your grandkids and great grandkids and their eventual robot / AI overlords.

Sex drive is not the only human drive. The reproductive drive goes farther than the act of mating itself, and into a pyschological desire to parent.

It always amazes me when fundie Christians and right-wingers insist being gay is all about just wanting to have sex with the same sex, it's a "lifestyle," a choice.

And yet so many gay couples want families...and create them. Biologically or otherwise. And altho it's easier now, in the past they had to fight for the right to adopt, have had to justify to social workers that they're not perverts, etc etc. It's often harder for them to create families and yet they fight to do so. Because it's about kids and a family, not just sex.

This is the secular equivalent of choosing to go to hell.

AI
"The consensus view is that global population growth will slow down significantly in the coming decades and is projected to peak around the mid-2080s at approximately 10.3 billion people. After this peak, a gradual decline is expected, with the population potentially settling around 10.2 billion by the end of the century."
Consensus includes some belief that global population growth will stop[ much sooner and fall much further.
AI
"One study projects a peak below 9 billion in the 2050s, reaching around 7 billion by 2100 in a "Too Little Too Late" scenario, which assumes continued economic development similar to the last 50 years. In a more optimistic scenario (Giant Leap), with unprecedented investment in areas like education and health, this study projects the population peaking at 8.5 billion around 2040 and declining to 6 billion by century's end."

Which is not as strong or widespread as it used to be

It can also be supplanted by people having pets to take care of,
