ADM Bill McRaven (Ret.) Calls Out Our Faux-Patriot President: Revoke My Clearance As Well

I won't editorialize. The article is worth reading. This is a lifelong public servant and warrior whom many of us had the privilege of serving under and learning from. He oversaw NEPTUNE SPEAR (operation that killed UBL). I suppose this is one more actual American hero who will have to go under the bus for President *****-grabbing bone spurs.
 
Well I just lost some respect for McRaven. Both he and Brennan and the rest of the whiners need to understand that THEY ARE NO LONGER IN THEIR POSITIONS AND NO LONGER NEED THE SECURITY CLEARANCE THEY HAD WHEN THEY WERE. Geesh, it ain't freakin rocket surgery. Read my lips, crybabies, "NEED TO KNOW". You are no longer in a position that requires that level of access. Period, end of story, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. If someone is dumb enough to put you back into a position that needs that level of clearance, they can request it, just like IT WORKS FOR THE REST OF US.

Retired and outgoing high-level officials’ successors routinely consult with them on sensitive matters. This isn’t new. Their continued access to classified is certainly one ****-ton more benefial to the people of the United States than Jared Kushner’s and most of the rest of this adminstration’s.

Or Trump’s for that matter.

It is an extremely powerful message coming from someone of that rank and history for this nation to be saying all that, and it speaks volumes as to how much Trump is engaging in political F-you moments with total disregard for those that committed so much for this nation.

This is nothing short of amazing... "Your leadership, however, has shown little of these qualities. Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation."

I doubt it is the stripping of Brennan's clearance that upsets the Admiral. It is the fact Trump is doing it merely out of vindictiveness and the Admiral respects Brennan. I can think of a couple leaders I had in the past that if they were unfairly attacked I would jump to their defense as well. And for the rest of us? Our security clearances don't expire after leaving the job either. They expire on their expire date, and if that date is a few years after you leave the service you still have your clearance during that time, unless you were kicked out for disciplinary reasons.

When I worked at embassies thee wee a couple times that we had to reach out to the former Defense Attaches after they had retired to get their input on some events. If we had had to wait the weeks it would take for them to re-obtain even interim security clearances we would not have been able to do it.

Again, it isn't a huge deal but the pettiness of it is what likely gets under the skin of a professional like the Admiral.
 
How does an officer semi-retire?

During My Air Force Father’s Time, There Were No Veterans and Military Personnel That Would Ever Consider Bastardizing Their Service Aiding, Abetting and Covering For A Criminally Insane Traitor.

Every retired officer had and has a political lean. Criticizing what Trump did to Brennan is his opinion on Trump’s vindictiveness.

If he is not on top of things, smart enough to see the rot all around him, he has no business with a clearence. And if that blind/incapacitated, might should never have had one in the first place.

I have often said that I would refuse to serve this gov't as the USA is today.
 

Wrong, that is not it it works for the rest of us. When you receive a high clearance you retain it until it expires on its own. The Only reason trump is revoking theirs is because he is a applied brat that wants to doing anything he can to strike back at those who call him what he is which is unfit to sit in the Oval Office.

It will always expire at the convenience of the Gov't.


And, it can be revoked for many reasons.
