In our school district, there’s always a few loud mouths jumping up and down about the achievement gap at our school board meetings. Specifically, African American students are not as high achieving as the white and Asian students. Can anyone explain why that is when they have the EXACT same school resources as the white and Asian students?

Take what you see and hear at public school board meetings with a grain of salt.

 
Because of what happens at home.
I suspect the complainer is not being 100% honest. It's usually more of a family income issue than a skin color issue.
It's easier to be a good student when you have books at home, wifi, are well fed, have regular eye and hearing checks, etc.
 
Parents can't help you understand math, or history, or biology if they don't understand math or history or biology.
 
If you give the actual answer your scientific credentials get stripped

The academic achievement gap between poor and rich children is substantial and has grown over time. Children from low-income families tend to have lower test scores, grades, and educational attainment compared to their wealthier peers.
 
Not everyone is created equally. We all have different skills and talents which is largely decided by our genetic makeup. Asians are good at math but fail in other areas like sports. Different races have different cultures than embrace different values.
 
There is no evidence that race has anything to do with whether someone is good at math. It is cultural, and when you develop a culture where an entire race of people is denied equal opportunity for generations this is what happens.

It is more about culture than anything else. For instance, you say that Asians are not good in sports, I beg to differ. Asians are about to take over baseball because baseball is very prominent in their culture as it is in many Hispanic countries. Americans gear their children more to football and basketball. Particularly in the black community. Education is more important to Asians than in other cultures. In most other cultures except for our country, they focus more on STEM. We are still obsessed with the 3 Rs. Something that is very archaic in this century. Educated peoples children tend to do better in school than non educated people and children of people with higher incomes do better than poor children
 
Seems this thread's intent is hate of the black man.

Um no, they just happen to be the ones that always get escorted out of the meeting because they’re disruptive, absolutely nothing to do with their skin color.

On another note, have anything intelligent to add to the topic of the thread? Or just jumping up and down because someone said African Americans aren’t as high achieving as whites and Asians in one particular school district?

That's awfully ironic coming from a MAGA. Your quintessentially racist position is you think black people are genetically inferior. So I expect we won't hear any whining any more when people call you a racist, right?

BTW, MAGAs are statistically speaking dumber and less educated than other groups. Is that a genetic problem?

Nope. Do explain further what your point was about people's racial genetics, math, and intelligence, maybe that will help clarify matters.
 

It is culture.

Call it Poverty Cycle.

One phrase that I ONLY heard with Black Students was, "You trying too hard"
to those black students that care about their grades... and I heard this a ton.

It was peer pressure meant to bring down those that hoped for a future..What
is interesting is that I never heard this from black students that were from Africa.

First generation Kenyans and Ugandans did great, honors and all that...
