Something about academic types is they always think they're smarter than they really are and that causes them to underestimate everyone else.
Those are the ones I call college educated idiots.

It's like the thing with the battery I'm not smarter than anyone else because I understand how it works I just found out of curiosity. A lot of academics tend to be incurious. They tend to only respect others in their echelon. I've heard this labeled as cathedral thinkinof
Yes, so many can only do as taught, and have no capacity to expand.
They'll even announce the cathedral there is a consensus among the cathed... um I mean I mean learned people. Um climate scientists yeah.
I never really heard the term until you used it. To me, people go into fields they are ill equipped for. Decades ago, I saw the push that anyone can be taught anything. In principle, that is true, but the results widely vary. This poses so many questions regarding academia that did not exist when I was that young.
every one outside of the cathedral is a hectic. I consider this anti-science.
I completely agree. The current climate science community ostracizes those who disagree. This tells me all I need to know about their ethics of science.

Sounds like what the UN is trying to do to us with this Climate Change scare.
Interesting I'll look it up sounds like an interesting read.
Wow I've been digging around looking at various things about it and I'm surprised how many people's view it as gospel.

The "climate change" scare is a direct descendant of Club of Rome mentality along with the "permanent energy crisis" of 1973-4 and 1979, and Covid. It's the elites' view that people aren't smart enough to do what's in their interests so it's better to have clunky government control. Those controls, as with energy and Covid, were unworkable but caused a lot of privation.

The control freaks are trying again, mightily, with "climate." I suspect that the U.S. electorate might have other plans for them, in either 2024 or 2028.

Some using it as that aspect would not surprise me.

I'm not sure I would call them idiots because to get an education you have to be pretty intelligent. I think the word egotistical is more appropriate.
Some of them earn their arrogance.

Offshore wind is not viable with our current technology.

Until we can do it better, keep the windmills on land - let’s not further destroy our oceans and their ecosystems.

I really think it's fear. If you question something you were taught how much of what you thought is questionable. I understand this fear because I had to face it. I'm glad it did because it led to quite a bit of knowledge and also a huge empty void that can be filled with knowledge.

It's very much like religion. They don't want to think that they might be wrong because if they're wrong about one thing what else are they wrong about it's the fear that everything they believe is a house of cards. That's just not how it works the clergy within the cathedral they benefit from incuriousness

I do believe anybody can be taught anything. But just because I could be taught how to be a good runway fashion model doesn't mean I would be a good runway fashion model.

Learning the method isn't enough.

I only started hearing the phrase when I stumbled upon this little rabbit hole regarding archeology. And how there seems to be a government effort to defund any kind of archeology regarding very old sites like gobeglitepi

This sort of thing appeals to the same people that say I believe in science as the science was a belief system I say it's the opposite of that it's a skepticism system it is a method inquiry belief skews results

Thank a Republican for that.

They never see much value in social sciences like archeology.

Republicans run Turkish government?

No I didn't think it's that I think it threatens the current view on humanity. We are talking world wide.

It's the same people that freaked out over ancient apocalypse.
