Concerning Islam being a "religion of peace", why is it that the largest Muslim nation on the planet - Indonesia, a third-world nation with 400M+ people - has a homicide rate LOWER than that of the safest American state?

I mean, Islam's SO violent, right?

Or could it be that maybe, just maybe the media and the Right are SO doggone happy to shout from the rooftops about what one or two percent of the worldwide Muslim population do - hey, violence sells, right? - but it wouldn't help the media or the Right at all to admit that according to the numbers, all Muslim first-world nations (and most Muslim third-world nations) are safer places to walk down the street than in America, would it?
