An ABC poll out today shows Biden up by 12 over Trump.

Again, sounds like bad news for Trump.

Until you examine their methodology. And find that the polling firm affiliated with ABC calls landlines, and asks for the youngest member of the household to take the poll.

An NBC poll out in September found that Biden was leading Trump with Generation Z voters by 24 points, and leading with millennial voters by 20 points. And this was during a week where Biden's RCP lead was 6.2.

Why on Earth would a pollster want to speak with the youngest member of the household? Younger Americans are less likely to vote. But wait, younger Americans are more likely to support a liberal candidate.

Hmmm...
.

Doesn't seem to bother you when Fox and Rasmussen do the same.

so Trump would not want to be up by 12 in this poll? Is that what you are saying? LOL

???

I’m saying that the pollsters called landlines and asked for the youngest member of the household.

Younger voters are much more likely to be liberal, as documented in the OP.

Hence, the 12 point Biden lead is artificial.

More propaganda BS.

How much do you get paid to push the daily denial?
Maybe...maybe they wanted to get old and young likely voters and had already had enough likely voters in other age ranges.....

How many "young people" do you know with landlines?

Asking for the youngest adult in the household is industry-wide standard procedure.

This doesn't even make sense, old people hate Trump. He decided their lives are expendable, the less of them captured in interviews the better for Trump.
Refer to the NBC study in the OP.

Biden was 24 points ahead of Trump with Gen Z, when Biden’s RCP lead was 6.

So Trump does not want to be ahead in "the youngest person in the household land line poll." Got it. He prefers to be down by 12 in this group. So he can be happy, he is.

Personally, I only know old folks who still have a land line at all. I am in my 60's and got rid of my landline over a decade ago. Only reason I had it so long was because of my business.

But, whatever, you think young people have land line. LOL

I notice you ignored the other half of my post.
He is making extrapolations based on his bias.

The poll does not cover just the youngest people, it is a stratified poll. Reuben is lying again.

In many households with landlines the youngest member of the household may be 70 years old.

You keep hoping all the polls are wrong.

I speed-read your article, expecting to dispute your characterization. But I can't. It is claimed in the article. Good catch.

I'm at a loss with this, but would like to know:

1] Why?

2] Is this typical? Are other pollsters doing this?

There may be some harmless or technical reason to do this. So, I'm not going to jump-on the 'conspiracy' bandwagon .... at least yet!

It is not only typical, but standard operating procedure. Pretty much every pollster does it.

That's just bullshit. It doesn't say that anywhere in the methodology.
Yes it does say it! Explicitly! It's quite a ways down the article, but it is there on the section on methodology.

Thanks! (y)

Interesting. Ii have never heard of this, but it's not like I would know.

Any idea why? What's the purpose?

Gen Z voters living with their parents.

You edited out the second line in his post, which was "Asking for the youngest adult in the household is industry-wide standard procedure."

Why was that?

Yeah, I’m not necessarily saying this is a conspiracy, it’s possible that pollsters are simply using a procedure they’ve had in place for years. And this time around, it happens to benefit Biden.

I’m trying to find out if The Hill, for example, used this same procedure for landlines, because they measured Biden +5.
