The U.S. and Ukraine have signed the deal to create the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund -- the long-awaited deal that gives the U.S. rights to Ukrainian rare earth minerals, both sides announced Wednesday. “This agreement signals clearly to Russia that the Trump Administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a press release. This is a good thing for both sides and will hopefully spell out the beginning of the end for the Russia-Ukraine war. It will be a mistake for the opposition to go after Trump on this deal. Many people said it wouldn't get done after the Zelensky Oval Office debacle, but it appears Trump persisted in spite of the drama and it's now officially paid off.
