Imagine the governor of a blue state giving authorization to a Democrat President to send NG troops to Texas.

MAGA would immediately claim its an act of war and demand that the governor resign and both he/she and the President be held for treason.

TX NG are not there at this time, in Chicago.

Chicago and the state have filed in the US District Court for Northern Illinois, in Chicago, to get the same ruling as the USDC in San Francisco and the USDC in Portland that the NG deployments are illegal for several reasons to include Posse Comitatus but on other Constitutional grounds such as the 10th Amendment among other Constitutional provisions and laws.

There's also the issue of the Potus/C'nC deploying one state NG into another state without the agreement of the governor and on the authority of the Potus/C'nC only and exclusively. Trump can do this under the Insurrection Act which remains dormant but short of that is not clear so IL and Chicago are petitioning the USDC to rule it cannot be done under present conditions and laws.

What we're seeing here is pretty much the first salvos in Trump's plan for full scale military invasion of "enemy cities".
Right now he can only get away with federalizing NatGuard but at some point he will demand the power to declare some sort of national terrorism emergency
that he will say requires the use of the actual ARMY-NAVY-AIR FORCE-MARINES.

That is one of the reasons it is so important to not engage. That gives the despot exactly what he wants...permission.
It's all about optics that he thinks he controls, rather than optics any reasonable person would see for themselves.

That's why he was frantically playing his accordion hands on the White House lawn this morning, screaming that
"Portland is being burnt to the ground, it's a war zone."


The objective is way too obvious.
We have Portlanders in this forum.
Don't we acknowledge that they would agree that it's a war zone?
We also have a lot of members who have family living there.
My daughter lives there.

We would all know if Portland was "BURNING TO THE GROUND"



Instead we have MAGA's who live in Ohio or Tuscon, or Pocatello Idaho, who have never set foot there, and don't know anyone there, who
