I was at the Amon Carter in Fort Worth today. Saw a few paintings by Georgia O'Keefe. This thread made me think of one of them.

It was an exhibit of a Texan's collection of 20th Century American art. It is going on tour and Fort Worth is the first stop. These were pieces I had never seen before. He had some other great artists as well. All a private collection for most of my life so they were all new to me. Wyeth, Hopper, Rothko, it was pretty cool. But the only O'Keefe in the exhibit were landscapes.
 
If I received a postcard from the Vagina Museum, I'm sending a text. "Not much to do there?"

Though now I'm curious. Chastity belts? Evolution of the tampon?

I'm glad you like private collections, and Georgia O'Keefe paints in particular. I've seen exhibitions of her work in the NYC Museum of Modern Art. I love visiting the city's museums when we're there.

Michelangelo's women always looked a little strange to me. They look very muscular and manly with breasts tacked on.

I agree. There is a lot of art from that time where I wonder if the artist ever actually saw a woman in the nude. They genuinely don't seem to know that they look like.
