? I have never been opaque about this. I believe the bible to be the words of men - not the word of god. Flawed men, violent genocidal men, extremely misogynistic men, petty men, jealous men, vengeful men, capricious men, ignorant superstitious men, punitive men, racist men, etc. .... who, to nobody's great surprise, "created" god in their image, and not the reverse! By contrast, the Divine is none of those things. In fact, I dare say that if anyone with no preconceived ideas about what the bible is supposed to be were to read it, the entire characterization I've written above would be self evident to anyone with more than a 6th grade education. I have often said that if the bible were not a few thousand years old, but instead was published last month for the first time, it would be laughed off the bookshelves as the most misogynistic text of the 21st century.

Well, for starters, roughly every single word of Genesis. We've known, or at least suspected, for 300+ years that the entire creation cosmology is horseshit, and the more truth we learn about the earth, the cosmos, and life itself, the deeper that manure has gotten. The more we know, the less truth we find in the book.

The only reason science exists is because GOD exists. No GOD ---- no science. At the very least there would be no purpose for science, because science cannot change our ending...

No, that's the claimed purpose, but not one it actually achieves. That purpose cannot be achieved with fairy tales.

The actual purpose is to control people, which the Church was very good at for centuries.

And the actual purpose of the scientific community is to manipulate what the unsuspecting/uninformed/uninquisitive think --- which is what "experts/authorities" have been very good at for centuries. Remember that the next time you are told you must stay away from churches, parks, etc., for another encounter with COVID.

Although they were clearly taken too far for political reasons, Covid lockdowns probably saved millions of lives, something that could never be said about religion.

Oddly, politics and religion have a lot in common.

No really. The professional scientists were in a panic that everyone was going to die from some man-made experiment in China involving evolutionary experimentation that had gone awry. Kind of like some Zombie apocalypse. The very same sort of panic happened during the Cuban Missile Crises (H-Bomb Hysteria)... But clearly GOD is in control and demonstrated that HE alone has the last word regarding our future... It will be over only when HE says it's over and not one moment sooner.

Make America Great Again isn't Treason. And I have to admit that I personally have misgivings about what happened at the Capital. But if treason, than any bar fight, riot, picketing, argument at any council meeting ---- might in fact be regarded as treason by someone. Treason is the overthrowing of a government. And frankly, that is not what I saw happening at the Capital, What I saw was a crowd of citizens trying to make themselves heard. No one was going to be dragged out and hung from the nearest tree. No one (at least on the outside) was seeking to hand our government over to some foreign power.
