Actually it starts with flouridation.Oh please liberalism always turns into socialism and that turns into Marxism
I don't care about current political discourse. People referring to men wearing dresses and makeup as women is also current political discourse.Fine. That still doesn't eliminate how it's meaning in current political discourse. When republicans accuse democrats of advocating socialism, they are not generally thinking of Webster's definition. Ditto when people talk about European socialism, or the platforms of social democrats, which I presume don't mention workers or government control or speak of themselves as the transition to communism. It's analogous to how "liberal" has several meanings.
I can't discuss what liberals/leftists truly love without getting banned from this site.Conservatives love THEIR socialism
No. I mean, in an abortion debate, I'll be called a godless liberal. In a gun control debate, I'll be called a heartless gun nut conservative. In an economics debate, I'm back to being a godless liberal. You just kinda go with the flow? Path of least resistance? That kind of stuff?
And your FAVORITE Socialist programsI can't discuss what liberals/leftists truly love without getting banned from this site.
So, I'll just stick with what I love, which is Capitalism with the government protecting my rights.
Sorry, I don't share your affinity for anti-American sentiment. And your FAVORITE Socialist programs
Ah, then you're what I generally refer to as a 60/40 -- 60% left and 40% right. Except in your case, it looks like you're more of a 66/33.No. I mean, in an abortion debate, I'll be called a godless liberal. In a gun control debate, I'll be called a heartless gun nut conservative. In an economics debate, I'm back to being a godless liberal.
You get the idea.
Sorry, I find your answer difficult to understand. Do you really think that when the GOP says that Biden's policies are "socialistic," they mean per the dictionary definition? I don't think so at all. I think they sincerely fear more government involvement in the private sector, are concerned about govt growth, etc., and are echoing the same type of complaints that surfaced about Social Security, Medicare and Obamacare, not accusing Biden of being the second coming of Lenin. The cynics among them might be using the term as a scary smear, much like some on the left might cynically use "racist."I don't care about current political discourse. People referring to men wearing dresses and makeup as women is also current political discourse.
Stick with reality, not with whichever way the bullshit flows.
But you love socialismSorry, I don't share your affinity for anti-American sentiment.
Yeah, more or less.Ah, then you're what I generally refer to as a 60/40 -- 60% left and 40% right. Except in your case, it looks like you're more of a 66/33.
He used to do it all the time. Make himself known. Is God a "dick" for not doing what you want?
You're not a follower of Christ; you're just some guy who wants the Almighty to show up and do what? Perform tricks? It doesn't work that way.
A Question for Liberals: How many of you embrace Socialism?
Based on the definition below:
Definition of socialism
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done
Another poll without Other.A Question for Liberals: How many of you embrace Socialism?

God is like a Drumpf policy, everybody has a different idea what it is.God is the one who should govern our lives, but that's a discussion for another time.
Right now we're looking for liberals to cast their vote.
I don't believe the term had been coined in King Louis XIV's time.I genuinely do not understand that contention, KevinKohler. How are you defining socialism? Because if you mean the typical definition, i.e., the collective ownership of the means of production, very few societies have achieved socialism or sustained socialism in the long term. If you simply mean sharing the costs for public infrastructure and services, like roads, police, fire departments, hospitals and courts of law and equity, then such an argument might be made. But I would argue that that is not socialism, because even the most tyrannical monarchies provided for those things, but no one could honestly describe someone like King Louis XIV as a "socialist."
That is not true. The far left and right tell that lie a lot. With respect:
ALL current formal economies are mixed economies and the two main ingredients are capitalism and socialism.
Regulated by the EPA.That's not socialism and who owns the company's the government buys the concrete and asphalt from?
Is it possible that other systems could do that?Collective ownership of the means of production is communism.
It's not about what we classify a person or society as. It's about what we classify an action as. The ACT of SOCIALIZING the cost of certain parts of our SOCIETY...is an act of socialism. Yes?
Provide the definition of socialism which you do support. You are not describing socialism.... So how should I give my answer? I am not liberal, how can I be if I am a socialist? It is fundamental different ideologies. But I am a socialist so the answer is Yes I do but then: You are describing communism with a centralized planned economy à la Stalin. So do I embrace that: The answer is: no I don't .
(And please remember that planned economy is not a term that originated from Marx. In fact the term was coined by a Swedish;Dag Hammarskjöld).
Not socialist.Like Scandinavia?
Then I'll take what they have here......and don't call it socialistNot socialist.
Oh please liberalism always turns into socialism and that turns into Marxism
Then those other systems are utilizing socialism. Is it possible that other systems could do that?
