A question for Catholics

How do Catholics justify calling gays an abomination, when they still support a cult who's leaders are known homosexual pedophiles and have tortured and murdered folks with impunity for centuries..
They are christian in name only.

They call themselves christians and don't follow basic christian beliefs.
Why do so many think that their bible has stated homosexuality is an abomination?

Mans interpretation of other men's writing. This, imo, is one of the most blatant examples of why religious texts can't be taken as anything other that PR releases for the faith that chooses to use them.

If, god doesn't make mistakes and if, god created man in his own image...the only conclusion is that god chose to make gay people, therefore he loves gay people as much as heterosexuals, and all the believers who make a fuss about it are blaspheming, and the church leadership promoting that view are promoting heresy.

Your post is a refreshing change from most Catholics I speak with. Thank you mrjurrs.

Actually Catholics don't use the bible.

Their faith is based on what is called Catechism, a system of rules and orders dealing with everything, includinghow to hold your tongue for 'communion' the actual 'flesh' of Jesus that tastes like paper. In fact they don't say much about Jesus, but there are pictures and crosses and gory blood all over the place...Catholic chruches are creepy, you'd think they worship the dead, gore and a weeping Madonna.....

I was not aware that Catholics don't use the bible. Do you have a supporting citation?

While I got married in a Catholic Church, I'm actually a lapsed Methodist that has moved from agnostic to atheist. I did attend Catholic Church for two years when I was a kid because we hosted Central American exchange students. I actually got to be pretty good at the call and response, but I could never get the timing right on when we were supposed to kneel.

I'm still agnostic, because I can't prove a negative.... But if I'm truthful with myself, being atheist is more realistic.

My atheism comes from a personal belief that if there is a god, it is not possible to say there is only one god. What gives me the ability to say that the christian god is more important than Torngarsuk?

The answer is self-explanatory. Which infers that you ask to churn, not to be informed.
Well then perhaps you can answer the question, how do Catholics/Christians justify calling gays an abomination, when they still support a cult who's leaders are known homosexual pedophiles and have tortured and murdered folks with impunity for centuries?.

Because that is the teaching of the old testament. Catholics are new testament, and when Catholics lean into such thinking it is usually from misunderstanding the Bible on the matter. The teachings of the New Covenant of the gentiles with God though acceptance of Jesus as Savior is that what is sin is sin, and should be turned away from by those who chose to walk the path of God, BUT that we are, ALL of us, sinners and we should not judge other sinners. We should love everyone and Judgement is God's and God's alone.

Agreed. I do not know who/what created all this.... But I think all religions are manufactured by man.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, you believe homosexuality is a sin?

Which Catholics justify calling gays an abomination, precisely? Is it the same ones who are homosexual pedophiles?
