A poll I'd love to see

For both Democratic primary and general election voters: "If both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden were guaranteed to win if nominated, who would you prefer be president?"

It would simply provide some clarity on who voters would prefer as president, which policies, rather than who they feel they have to vote for as the 'safe choice' on electablity. If anyone knows of such a poll, post it.

Favorability ratings come close enough I would guess. This is different from the head-to-head match-ups. Instead, these questions simply ask whether you consider a person favorably or not.

Here is one example recent poll.

It also asks other questions about each, such as whether voters think they are better at handling crisis, etc.

I scanned through it. People think Bernie is more honest but in all other categories they favor Biden - from crisis management to better leadership skills to overall favorability.

This applies to both Dems-only, as well as Dems+Reps.

This poll doesn't give very much in the way of sampling data, except that 44% of those sampled are Dem or Dem leaning Inds. There is no data on the number of Rep or Rep leaning Inds sampled. Considering the fact that only 29% of the population is Dem, this suggests that poll is biased toward Dems. If more data were supplied and if that data supported this suggestion, I would REJECT!! this poll.

Since sufficient data is not supplied by the pollsters, I will simply IGNORE this poll...at least, in respect to any questions that involve Republican and Independent respondents.

The problem with your two sources is that they are giving a general explanation. I'm addressing a specific poll. Neither you, I nor either of those two sources can say that the poll you linked did or didn't cook their numbers. They just don't give us enough data.

Now...considering the fact that other polls that HAVE given specific numbers that were bogus, this shows that some polls (a lot, actually) DO cook their numbers to get a desired result. Fox News polls are a PRIME example.

btw, if it turns out that poll you presented does manipulate sampling in reference to Trump, that should give you a heads up that they'll cook the numbers to get a desired result in reference to Biden vs Bernie. I'm simply suggesting that you take this poll...and most other polls...with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Or you moved from from accusing 44% Dems/Leaning number being wrong to saying Ok, it's right, but things are still likely to be "cooked" because almost all polls are "cooked"...

I don't want a meaningless small sample of the posters here on this, I wanted a sense of the national voters' views. I also realize even that is not that useful, it doesn't give much idea where voters would be if Bernie had months of campaigning as the nominee to change their views.

If the MSM told Democrats how great Bernie is, they'd vote for him.

But the oligarchy - which owns the MSM - HATES Bernie, and most Democrats can't think for themselves.

Also, the DNC - also owned by the oligarchy - HATES Bernie & stabbed him in the back again.

So no Bernie.
