Word from the late, ‘Great Communicator’:

“Here’s my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose.” - Ronald Reagan

“The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” — Ronald Reagan

“The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” — Ronald Reagan

“Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.” — Ronald Reagan

“I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.” — Ronald Reagan

“The taxpayer: That’s someone who works for the federal government but doesn’t have to take the civil service examination.” — Ronald Reagan

“Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.” — Ronald Reagan!

“The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program.” — Ronald Reagan

“It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.” — Ronald Reagan

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” — Ronald Reagan

“Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards; if you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book.” — Ronald Reagan

“No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.”— Ronald Reagan

“If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” — Ronald Reagan

I have a few favorite quotes from Reagan that I used for a long time in my sig on my old political debate forum:

Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence. - Ronald Reagan

How do you tell a communist? It's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. How do you tell an anti-communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin. - Ronald Reagan

Republicans believe everyday is the Fourth of July. Democrats believe everyday is April 15. - Ronald Reagan

Why should I respect him because he could make quippy quotes?

I always like this one:

"For decades, we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals. You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why, then, should we think that collectively, as a nation, we are not bound by that same limitation?" Ronald Reagan, 1981.

Phrases that defined a career - The Legacy of Ronald Reagan - MSNBC.com

But that one isn't politically convenient for the Republicans to remember or achieve.

“Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.” — Ronald Reagan

He must have said this before the Iraq war.

You don't realize how silly your post is, do you?

Could be. Reagan probably would have been gung ho about the Iraq war. Though he was smart enough to pull us out of the middle east when he was president so there's good reason do doubt he would ever engaged in such a colossal fiasco.

Could be what?

Too bad he wasn't president when the muslims attacked us.

Yep. Just clarifying your inaccurate statement.

My statement was accurate. All of them were muslims.

Your statement was a nonsequitor. Capiche?

The muslims didn't attack us. The vast huge majority of them had nothing to do with it.

So what? I never said they did. My statement was completely accurate. Yours is a non-sequitor. Yours has nothing to do with mine.

What was inaccurate about it? All the men who attacked us were muslims. I said, when the muslims attacked us...

So, identify which part of that fragment is inaccurate.

Go ahead.

It's just as accurate as talking about when the Americans blew up the building in Oklahoma.

Yes, one could say, when the American's blew up the bujilding in Oklahoma...

If they were referring to the Federal building they would be completely accurate. Did you seriously think my statement was in error? I doubt it. Analyze to yourself what you were really doing and then ask yourself why you're doing it. You have a deep seated problem.

I know exactly what I am doing an what you are doing. You used a grammatically ambiguous phraseology you used to imply blame to an overbroad categorization of who attacked us as "the muslims". Identifying them as the muslims is an overbroad description of who these guys were. It be like saying when the Christians declared war on us on December 11, 1941. The intent is to vilify the muslims. The terrorists in no way represented "the muslims." Your intent is clear.

No, it was completely accurate. You wish to catagorize it as overbroad because of a political agenda of yours that you would like very much to have everyone else conform to via the propaganda technique known as semantic infiltration. You are a true child of the left.

Spoken by a true child of the right.
