Everybody votes for their legislators. Let's see a poll on current representative satisfaction.
yeah and when election time comes around the very same people vote em all right back in.
Everybody wants change but nobody wants to make a change. Not sure why that is with people but that is pretty much how it is world wide. I can only assume that it is fear. We percieve career politicians as being the only ones who really know how to do politics. We are afraid that if we vote for a new face with new ideas that rather than repair the system they may totally destroy it and us as in our way of life right along with it.
So we stick with the evil that we know.

If this is the case, why do most congressmen seem to constantly get re-elected?
People have had no confidence in congress for most of the past 8 years...and we still have many of the same Senators and Representatives.
In fact, I would guess there are studies out there showing distrust for congress as a whole, but majority support for one's own congress members.
All them congress-critters are screwin’ us!
Except mine.

True, and this situation screams out for reform.
Four year terms for reps
Limit on campaign time and spending...say 60 days time; $100K to 1,000K money limit(based on the state population) - probably too generous..
Truth in advertising, if a man lies, he must be exposed......maybe I am going too much too soon...most politicians may not know know to NOT lie...:spin:
Everyone would like Change for the Better. That's NOT what happened, is it Moe?
The problem there is different voting groups have different ideas of just what better is. What may seem better to you may not seem better to me. Basically I would like to see a much smaller government that specializes in handling foreign affairs, national security and trade and more power given to the individual states to govern their own affairs.

Get rid of "bundeling of contributions" what's the point of limiting how much one person can contribute when that person can bundle 500 "contributions" in one lump sum and claim it's all from 500 different people? Those people can write their own checks.
