Last night was an amazing episode. Not sure if others are watching.
Great discussion on Chicago violence.
I have no answers. I have opinions. Just curious what people are thinking.

America needs to come to grips with the history of slavery, segregation, and du jour and de facto systemic racism. Then start rebuilding inner city communities.

$$% has been cut. Everything but cops have been cut.So just keep pumping money into it? That's a pretty ****ty plan.
How do we go about rebuilding the communities?

What does cutting basics services and education do?Your user name is accurate. What does pumping money into these areas actually do?
1. Tax land, not buildings. Doing so will remove the incentive to leave land idle and encourage productivity.
2. Have a percentage of the land tax revenue returned to the community's citizens. This will help offset the effects of gentrification.
3. Reduce other taxes including income, sales, and payroll taxes. This will attract businesses to the cities.
4. Legalize marijuana. Doing this would be a huge blow to the underground drug trade, help free up resources in law enforcement, and be an additional revenue source.
Not comprehensive but it is a start.
What does cutting basics services and education do?
950 murders 2016-today.

Of course not, don't be ignorant. So not having free money is an excuse to murder people? Seems reasonable.
Yep, get over slavery and segregation. Problem solved.Blacks need to come to grips and realize slavery was 150 years ago AND DROP THE GD PITY CARD...nobody in America alive now had anything to do with it ...and most in America now didnt have anything to do with the 60s..ITS HISTORY!!!
JUST DROP IT GET OVER IT MY GOD
I dont here Indians screaming about the 1800s
rebuilding the communities?
Blacks can start in Chicago ...o yeah they cant stop shootin long enough
Of course not, don't be ignorant.
It isn't about free money it is about equal opportunity.
Focusing on school. When equal budget cuts happen to an affluent school and an impoverished school, whom is likely to be impacted most?
Affluent districts overcome much of the cuts through fundraising. Schools with high poverty cannot.
After the cuts, we all act shocked that poorly educated people living in poverty misbehave.
I have no idea what it is like to live in a state of desperation. The violence is wrong, but so is the refusal to provide an equal education. I believe it is a worthy investment.
Btw, did you watch the show?

1. There is no incentive to build in these low income neighborhoods. Businesses aren't going to just start building in unsafe areas because they can make a few more cents.
2. Most of the community in these areas already are on government assistance/ don't pay any income tax to begin with.
3. Again, this isn't true.
4. The only thing on the list that might help. However, once the profitability to sell marijuana illegally is gone, these same people will move on to selling harder drugs, or just continue with robbery or other criminal acts.
So the episode at the KKK rally was exploiting whom? It's a racist show, trading in and making profit by exploiting hatred and envy of white people
