Hi all I just joined this forum and was looking through some old file and as fate would have it came across this bit I wrote on the 4th of july 2004 but never published. I thought that perhaps you would like to see what my take on the state of America on that day was and take this as a sort of introduction of my political views on the course this country has taken.

Welcome to Corporate America
This 4th of July may be the darkest Independence Day in the history of America. America is no longer run by the people of this country but by the corporations. All politicians are sponsored and controlled by corporations or special interest groups. Eisenhower warned us about the military/industrial complex, but his warning went unheeded. Now the corporations are trying to control our very lives. Just as Adam turned on his creator and destroyed him and everything he loved, (Frankenstein story, not the Bible), corporations are doing the same to the American way of life. The press and the government are a bordello of corporate whores screwing the American people with lies, disinformation and spun rhetoric while funneling billions into the coffers of their obscenely wealthy pimps. The situation has deteriorated to the point that a defenseless country has been attacked and destroyed based entirely on lies; thousands of innocents tortured and tens of thousands murdered using banned depleted uranium weapons that has rendered the whole country radioactive. Billions of dollars are being squandered on illegally awarded contracts and $20 billion in oil profits looted from the treasury of that country by these corporate monsters. A $1 trillion tax break for the wealthiest while the government has record high deficits and a $1.2 trillion additional tax break proposed. At the same time the American workforce has suffered serious setbacks at the hands of corporate outsourcing and runaway illegal immigration and make lower wages with fewer benefits today than a decade ago. If China one day decides to dump its dollars on the world market our economy will collapse due to the huge trade deficit. The middle class is being systematically dismantled through these actions and we are rapidly headed for third world status with only the very rich and the very poor in our country. Social services on a federal and state level have been severely cut back with more deep cuts on the way if the current regime is re-elected. Mandatory military service may be re-instated by next summer regardless of who is elected in November. One proposed draft bill before the Senate calls for mandatory service of all Americans, male and female, between the ages of 18 and 45. The military is stretched to the point where there must be a draft in order to continue to insure national security. Our Constitution has been shredded to the point that doctors are now the unwilling agents of the DEA with mandatory drug tests for patients needing pain medication. Private information is now accessible without warrants and we have the biggest police state in the world with 1.7% of the population incarcerated. The president was unconstitutionally and illegally appointed by the Supreme Court contrary to the popular vote. Every phone call is listened to by Echelon based in England. Homelessness is at an all time high of 3.5 million. Radio Frequency ID tags are being added to every product and money. Property can be seized and our citizens can be imprisoned without due process. The Environmental Protection Agency has been neutered and the environment is being sacrificed for corporate profit. The Food and Drug Administration has been staffed by corporate operatives and now protects corporate profits/interests instead of the public welfare. Anyone who speaks out against the current regime is in danger of vicious personal attacks and/or death. A Senator from Minnesota and his family, who were threatened by the second highest Whitehouse official publically, all died shortly thereafter in a plane crash with no apparent cause. A high level CIA operative was outed by the Whitehouse and an intelligence gathering network crucial to national security, which had taken years to establish, destroyed in retaliation to a spouse revealing intelligence lies by the current regime; an act of high treason by the highest levels of government. Corporate criminals now occupy/control the Whitehouse, the Press and the Supreme Court. American integrity has been undermined worldwide, our foreign policy is in ruins and we are now the most hated country on the planet. These traitors must be brought to justice and the destruction of America for corporate profits stopped. Anyone who considers him/herself a patriot must see the handwriting on the wall. The American people are being enslaved by the corporations. Soon it will be too late to stop it.
The only way to stop the rape of the American people is to take back control of the government and elected/appointed officials from the corporations. This can be done by changing the campaign contribution laws for starters. All contributions for all elections go into a common fund and the candidates get equal amounts to spend on their campaign, determined for each office by the number of potential voters. This will eliminate the influence of special interest groups on candidates and ensure fair elections. The whole system of electronic voting, owned and controlled by the corporate criminals, must be scrapped and a paper trail put back to insure honesty in the count. The practice of limiting voting lists because of criminal records, ethnicity or any reason must be eliminated. Only with these reforms can the honest and impartial election of candidates be a reality. We could even go so far as to put a “none of the above” option on all ballots so a constituent could vote against all candidates if none were considered acceptable.
In addition all legislation that infringes upon the rights guaranteed under the constitution must be repealed and any attempts in the future to limit the constitutional rights of Americans viewed as criminal acts of treason. Supreme Court judges must be held accountable for their decisions by making the positions elected 4 year posts and impeachable. Conflict of interest issues must be fully investigated and disclosed before appointments to government positions and current posts scrutinized in public hearings. The press must be held accountable for perpetrating lies and disinformation with high fines for broadcasting/publishing stories later proven to be untrue.
Tax breaks for the wealthy must be eliminated with a strait, across the board, percentage charged equally for all with exemption for earnings up to what is considered the top limit of poverty level or a flat point of purchase tax. Taxes for corporations must be restored to prior levels as the corporations have shown that tax incentives only encourage more corruption, greed and lust for profits and power and do nothing for the workers.
Illegal immigration must be controlled and penalties imposed for the outsourcing of American jobs to foreign locales.
With public outcry in support of reform these changes to get back the American Way of Life will happen that much faster. But things must change one way or the other.
