Just more evidence of what sick ****ing assholes Trump and his MAGA supporters are.

From the Washington Post. --

Three U.S. citizen children from two different families were deported with their mothers by Immigration and Customs Enforcement during the early hours of Friday morning. One of them is a 4-year-old with Stage 4 cancer who was deported without medication or the ability to contact their doctors, the family’s lawyer said.

According to their lawyers, both families were taken into custody while attending routine check-ins this week in New Orleans as part of the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, which allows individuals to remain in their communities while undergoing immigration proceedings. Lawyers say the families were taken to Alexandria, Louisiana, a three-hour drive from New Orleans, where they were prevented from communicating with their family members and legal representatives and then put on a flight to Honduras.

The cases have renewed concerns that the Trump administration’s expedited deportations are violating the due process rights of both citizens and noncitizens.

I don’t know how much more of a blatant or clear constitutional violation there can be than deporting U.S. citizens without due process,” said Alanah Odoms, executive director of the ACLU of Louisiana. Especially with some of those citizens being the most vulnerable of all vulnerable, children, and not just any children, children with medical conditions that are dire.”

It's usually best to bet on incompetence when it comes to government officials and processes.

But this is as wrong as it is infuriating. We need to reform qualified immunity, and I hope this family just absolutely takes ICE to the bank in the courts.

Trump and his knuckle-draggers have not earned that benefit of the doubt. They are enjoying this cruelty.

What happened to this?

"Birthright citizenship is the biggest, costliest scam in financial history,” Miller ranted. “An illegal alien could come here nine months pregnant, or on a tourist visa nine months pregnant, have a baby. That baby is then declared an automatic citizen, which then entitles the entire family to come here and live here, and every one of them get welfare … unlimited welfare, applying as the custodian of this citizen—so-called—child.”

What has Trump done after finding out about these types of "mistakes"?

Absolutely NOTHING....except ignore the orders of judges, like in the Garcia case.

Sure - and he deserves all the blame for that. But he's not cackling like a cartoon villain as he loads children on the plane. Instead, we have incompetent and venal state employees, who (seemingly) have been given terrible incentives, no real consequences, and don't seem much to care.

That last won't change with administrations, and is why we should limit the power of the state

The point is Trump can stop this happening in an instant but isn't.
Trump doesn't give a single shit about US citizens in need.

I don't agree with that, either. These types of constant deportation "mistakes" and outrages did not happen in previous administrations.

Honestly, the first thing I want to know is are you here legally? Then. Did your parents come legally? Do you have a criminal record?

They were not deported. They elected to leave. Do you want the gov to start imprisoning their citizens now? Are democrats that desperate for illegal voters that they are willing to hold children hostage?

A 4 year old and a 7 year old are now allowed to decide to leave the country?

Since when?

Evil, while it can be fascinating, is rarely interesting when it’s perpetrators are examined with any degree of real rigor. Evil is always banal. It must be, because it is typically carried out by ordinary men and women who for the sake of their own sanity and emotional health treat it as a job. It was the same in Nazi Germany. It was the same in Soviet Russia. It was the same in the United States when we allowed people to be owned as property. Or when we locked up tens of thousands of American citizens because of their race.

And I have no doubt that if these ICE officers were ordered on pain of losing their jobs to shoot illegal immigrant men, women and children and throw their bodies into a pit, nine in ten* would do it and then go home to their families that night, **** their wives, play with their kids and read them bedtime stories, then drink a beer and watch the game. And they would go back to their jobs the next day and do it again.

There is no difference in the quality of their conduct or character that would indicate they would do anything less than what the Nazis or the NKVD or the slave catchers would do. Only their orders.

*And I am probably being generous to ICE agents, indicating that 1 in 10 would refuse to kill otherwise-innocent people. The actual number would probably be 99 out of a hundred agents would be willing to go along with and engage in unlawful mass-murder if commanded to do so, with only 1 in 100 at most refusing to do so.

These are small children. They don't elect anything. In the two year olds' case, the father was trying to keep her here, and ICE threatened to arrest him if he continued to petition them for it.

And with no due process.

I'm generally against anchor babies. I'd like to amend the Constitution to address it. But this is wrong.
