I thought this was interesting since we just argued on this board recently about voter ID cards and election fraud.

4 Indiana Dems Charged With Election Fraud In 2008 | Fox News

The sad thing is, there will be no outrage. This story will be mentioned and it will go away. Unfortunate.

Which votes in the election were fraudulently cast?

And you think that voter ID laws would have prevented this somehow?

How would that work?

I am not so sure that this is a voter ID thing as mentioned by Grim. Don't they just get these signatures in the street?

The people who collected the signatures are accused of forgery, afaict.

If people had to show ID to vote, no impact.
Having to show ID to sign petition. the alleged culprits would have had to forge a checkmark that they saw the ID and that it matched.

afaict
imho

This case has nothing to do with Voter IDs.

Par for the course with that party.

First of all, this has nothing to do with voter IDs. Second of all, are we to believe that being charged with something means automatically guilty now?

Democrats want to win and run this country by hook or by crook. That is why we need to do everything possible to insure honest elections.

Yet again for the incredibly ignorant, THIS STORY HAS NOTHING to do with Voter ID cards. Are people REALLY this ignorant?

Look at how long this took.... And this is common it seems. So commit fraud, get your guy elected, on the ballot or whatever, if you get caught its 2 or 3 years before anything hits the fan. Mission accomplished... Sure there may be a penalty down the road but so what?

Look at it this way, if and this is totally hypothetical, it was found that some fraud actually elected a President and it's now 3 years into his/her term - will any court or power on Earth throw that sitting President out of office? Hell no.... Which is why political fraud is totally worth it to the extremist nut jobs.

Where were they found guilty again?

Hey, if they get a quick trial done, he can pardon them too.

No one has been convicted yet, and they may not be.

Imagine that. Amazing how some are overreacting to something that hasn't even been proven fact yet.

Charges have been levied, that is newsworthy.

Yes, charges have been levied, but guilt has not been determined. Don't let that stop your hyper partisan behavior though.

Amazing how some cant acknowledge that these people are wrong. But they are democrats so to some that means they can do no wrong.

Have they been found guilty? If not, how do you know they did anything wrong? Does charges being filed mean guilty?

While I am watching the cat fight that is playing out, let me interject my own opinion here.

1) In any state that consists of millions of people, there are going to be instances of voter fraud. It happens on both sides.

2) Actual voter fraud is extremely rare.

3) If someone commits voter fraud, then they should go to jail.

4) How many people have been charged with voter fraud? In the state of indiana, it looks like 4, out of a population of millions.

5) Rather than worry about voter fraud, which is an issue that has been grossly overdone, I would worry about things like Enron and other schemes in which people are defrauded of their life savings. These are orders of magnitude more important than the occasional asshole that commits voter fraud.

6) Finally, show me proof that an election outcome was changed because of voter fraud. I have all year to wait. All I want to see is your proof.

I'm waiting for a verdict, how am I being hyper partisan?

There is a good deal of evidence:

Looks fairly solid as far as evidence goes. Comes down the handwriting analysis and Burkette's affadavits. Im betting there is a plea bargain in there for him somewhere. Good for law enforcement in that district cant be easy even charging political leaders in your own county or district.

I agree. The evidence is there. Charge them, and if convicted, lock them up and throw away the key.
