2025 FIFA Club World Cup Pick 'Em

Hard to see Chelsea having the wherewithal to withstand the PSG onslaught.
 
I can't imagine two clubs I'd want to play to an exhausting two hour draw followed by 35 pks more than these two billionaire vanity projects, for the final of the ridiculous cwc.

Back in the day, Chelsea used to do their pre-seasons in our little seaside town and I've played in the same team as the head of the local Chelsea supporter's club so I have a subliminal soft spot for them even if my preferred term is 'hapless rabble of mercenaries'.

And while PSG are not a team I've ever had any time for, Luis Enrique has taken the vanity project and turned it on its head very successfully.

As a Reds fan, I quite enjoyed the CL bash with PSG, even including the loss. I don't begrudge the players their excellence, or Enrique's skill in making that talent into a team.

I just loathe both clubs' owners.

And, as a Reds fan, seeing these teams exhaust each other just in time to return to club training, well, yummy.
 
Really dont like this format at all. Why the hell is Chelsea even there. Winning the Conference cup and coming 4th in the EPL should not give them access to a World Club cup.

Only teams that should be there, should be the winners of the Champions League of each continent, and maybe the winners of top 5 leagues in Europe, and then add in special rules for the Americas, Africa and Asia because of the different league setups there. No European Nation should have more than 2 representatives.

Now I am glad that my team FC Barcelona was not there as it helps with fitness for the new season, but come on.. the EPL Champions, Premiere Liga (Portugal), Serie A (Italy) and La Liga Champions 2024/25 were not there. The Portuguese had 2 representatives, nr 2 and 3 in the league but the bigger French League had 1.. And for some reason Salzburg, an Austrian team got in as an European representative.. Austrian football is barely in the top 10 leagues in Europe.. the English Championship is better!

And you can't even call it money grabbing corruption, unless the teams paid FIFA for their spots..because the teams with most fans were not even there..with the exception of Real Madrid and Juventus.. pathetic.

Salzburg were there on some coefficient thing; it would have been Arsenal had they beaten Bayern in their 2024 CL quarter final!

I know and it is bs.. they never won anything in Europe.
 
Still, I enjoyed watching the Brazilian teams. And it was nice seeing our pal @Allan turning out for Fluminense.
 
Superbowl style halftime show can fudge right off.

Intriguing rather than strange (as a football match, ignoring the stupid frills). It was the proverbial game too far for PSG. Cole Palmer and João Pedro look a dangerous on each other's wavelengths combination going forwards. And Cucurella rather hilariously suckered hothead young Neves into a stupid hair pull.

I suspect Chelsea will regret playing in this tournament. EPL and La Liga preseason has started and they have to have vacation first. If they don't, they will have a massive injury crisis in the first half of the season.

That is how it should be..kinda. The next Club world Cup is in 4 years..so the Continental Champions in those 4 years should be automatically entered. Plus host Nation Champions.

Not sure why PSG should already be qualified as they wer in this years tournament due to winning the Champions League.
