2 new polls show RFK Jr. starting with 14-19% support as an independent candidate against Biden/Trump.

Kennedy is expected to drop out of the Democratic primary next week against Biden ... and announce an independent run against Biden/Trump in the general election instead.

I think Kennedy is a loon, but I think there is a large percentage of voters who are looney.

I think Kennedy on the ballot as an independent guarantees a Trump victory.

News to me. Last I'd seen is his saying he would not run third party. Looks like he's changed his mind. He also predicted if he ran third party he'd take more votes from trump than Biden. Your poll suggests it's about the same or close.

Normally, ya. But both the Republicans and the Democrats wish someone else were nominated, and Kennedy has become very popular on the right, seeming to do almost all right-wing media. It seems possible he could draw as many or more votes from trump than Biden. The polls above show taking about the same.

I am sure he will pull more from Biden than Trump.

The election is going to come down to 1 or 2 % in about 5 states. I think Kennedy EASILY pulls that much more from Biden than Trump.

I think if Kennedy stays in, Trump is guaranteed victory.

We'll see. Democrats hate trump and know a vote for Kennedy is a vote for trump, and his whole agenda has been right-wing issues, especially anti-vaccine and anti-Covid measures. Hard to see why Democrats would prefer him.

thats awful. just because he opposes a vaxx mandate? There is no reason to think it's unsustainable
he's been around 14 for awhile

Before covid, almost all of the anti vaxxers were liberals. Those antivaxxers didn't go anywhere.

The media seems to want to focus on those things that are controversial about him. An example would be the covid vaccine

Going to disagree. The anti-vax issue has exploded over Covid, and is overwhelmingly right-wing, and even the small number of former Democratic anti-vaxxers may well have switched in many cases to Republican over it.
 
At this point the polls are becoming erratic, adding in RFK Jr. to the mix still suggests Biden has more to lose in that.
 
If Kennedy wasn't a nutcase, I'd be pulling him over Biden in the primary.

He feels persecuted, but the media is rightly paying attention to what he's made a big issue.
