That's one way to fund the tax cuts for the rich. A stupid, selfish way.

Excuse me for asking this, but if the trumpdump is so concerned about eliminating "outside" influence, why would we sell our precious soil to anyone other than a bona fied born-in-this-country American? Just asking....never mind, already know the answer... :cautious: ☹️

Jacky Rosen and Mark Amodei both had land bills defeated. Nevada is 85% owned by the feds, and as a fast-growing state, there is little developable land to expand. Especially in the north which has complex topography.

Republicans killed both Rosen's and Amodei's bills which is surprising. If Trump wants to sell land, both had detailed plans that took years to develop. This plan by Trump seems haphazard. From the map, the land available for sale won't help Northern Nevada. A few tiny parcels, but the entire northern slope of Peavine Peak is for sale. That won't go over well. What Trump apparently doesn't understand is that any development requires county/city approval. The controlling jurisdictions will not allow Peavine Peak to be developed.

The cult are determined to push as much public wealth into private hands as they can. Robbing the piggy bank of future generations to shift more wealth into the hands of the already wealthy. So incredibly short sighted, and so incredibly immoral. Yet once again the cult will cheer and clap because it is all just part of owning the libs.

Minor details to people like trump.

The parcels available make no sense at all. Jacky Rosen had a bill worked out, which had the approval of all parties; residents, developers, tribes and environmentalists. I see a lot of land east of Carson City is targeted, which I guess is helpful, but the growth is in Washoe County. Carson City hasn't gained population in many years. Makes no sense. And Peavine Peak is a recreation area. No one would even think about developing it.

Looks like theater to me.

Edit: I guess I didn't wait long enough for the map to load. There is a lot of land being offered east of Sparks and north of the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, which is where Rosen's bill focused.

If this goes through, it will be interesting. We need the land. Though it would have been preferable to pass Jacky Rosen's bill, as it doesn't affect the whole country, this is actually good news for Northern Nevada.

We are currently living in the theater.

It makes me wonder what other kinds of nonsense is buried in this bill.

I don't think any thought was put into it at all. After waiting for the map to load, ALL federal land in 10 western states is for sale. No rhyme, no reason. Just a map depicting BLM and FS land in the West. I guess it's all for sale.

Messy and cobbled together, as per usual for this administration.

Private sector ownership not only generate money through the initial sale but also annual taxes.
