Apparently, the politics of the red states has started effecting college enrollment in those states. These states have sealed their own fates by attacking personal liberty.

Right-wing idiots will think that's a good thing, because they're too stupid or selfish to realize the value of college education.

I guess the students feel they would have a harder time being assholes and woke snowflakes at red state schools.

They might have to interact with people who possess <gasp> opinions different from themselves. They wouldn't even be allowed to beat them up or have them expelled either. There'd be no escaping it. It's like everyone has the same rights.

Truly a hellish experience for your typical leftist fascist student! Better they wrap themselves in the warm embrace of a nanny school that will never ever challenge their beliefs or force them to think any unpleasant thoughts, or any thoughts at all really. Isn't that what higher education is for?

Eating Tide pods had lasting effects

Hard to believe stuff like health care access, reproductive rights, and voting rights can impact where young people want to live!

It doesn't. Don't be mislead.
It affects their parents. A 17 year old only worries about where the next party is which boy/girl they are crushing on.

Nah, these Gen Z’ers are far more politically aware than their slacker Gen X parents.

As I just posted, it's generally the parents directing the kids. That said, it is very hard for a kid from a progressive state to feel at home in Alabama, Arkansas or some other less evolved state.
My youngest had the opportunity to select from basically any school and came back from many recruitment trips where the red carpet was rolled out only to rule out the school because even in a weekend the cultural divide was simply to great.

More likely it's because they are snowflakes who need safe spaces and puppies. Shame they cannot handle being adults with complex responsibilities.

Honestly?
A 16-17 year old gives a **** about which college? and the politics of it.

Sorry, if you believe this, I have abridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

The putrid MAGA leaves its typical feces laden sandwich on the sidewalk for all to see. Triumphant you think? MAGA. That's what you get when molasses becomes thicker than horse shit. They should take their infantile microscope and run around the olympic swimming pool. That'll show 'em.

I'll let you use my decoder ring, but you first.

It's a two way street. Red kids are avoiding the better schools as the Blue kids avoid the crap ones. You did not read from the link.
I posted the map.

Going to college in a red state is a complex responsibility?

Most likely it's because they want an education.

My kids went to high school in a Red state. One is very bright and was very deliberately funneled into challenging classes and a path to college by the school. The other displayed average intelligence (but has way more common sense) and average effort. And was not a troublemaker and was basically ignored by the school.

We tried really hard to counteract her version of the academic culture at the school which was basically "whatever". We even suggested she take a year off after graduation to work to get exposed to "real" life. She eventually attended school but didn't finish which I partially attribute to her lack of preparation due to her mediocre high school education.

It's only going to get worse for red states.

The level of education is going down in red states, the kids who go to school there won't be able to compete with kids who went to school in a blue state where they got a comprehensive and proper education.

Young people will continue to leave red states.

Business won't go there because the states won't have the properly educated population and can't recruit people to go there.

Finally, women will be the most who won't go to red states. Married men won't go there because their wives won't want to go there.

The standard of living is much lower in red states too.

I used to care but now, not so much. They are happy the way they are so I don't see any reason to have any concern with them. I just wish that they didn't get my tax dollars. I wish they would finally start supporting themselves and stop being such irresponsible deadbeats.

This is good news for kids in red states. After their governors have them too dumb to get into real universities, these under attended red state colleges will be happy to take students who weren’t taught any science or history.

They would do that anyway.

Has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the reich-wing legislature restricting basic rights.

No adult ever even discussed me going to college until I was 17 and already in the Navy. Then, a Lt Commander with a masters degree, almost old enough to be my father, told me I was smart enough to succeed in college. It changed my life. I now have two degrees.

When my daughter was born I began letting her know she was going to college. I reinforced this every chance I got. When the time came, she was not only well prepared but looking forward to the next phase of her education. Today she has a a college degree, a very lucrative and successful career and she is happy. What more could a father want?

Florida has shown that the State can step in and take control of a liberal arts college to bend the curriculum to the will of the revanchists.

Which is why all federal funding for schools in Florida needs to be yanked. No money for those schools. No money for students from that state trying to go to out of state schools.

A college education is a wonderful thing. The communist infiltration of our education system is not.
