Most of the cases have been in Colorado, which has 27 reported cases, and Nebraska, which has nine reported cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

This happened right after Trump "worked" at a Mikey D's and touched food with his dirty, tiny hands! Coincidence? I think not!

This is really tragic. And McDonald's stock dropped 9% today when the news broke.

It sucks. Probably a supply chain issue. That's often the case when it comes to food poisoning outbreaks, and it happens to many restaurants.

They're not sure of the source yet. It could be the pattie, the onions or even the bun. Because this is so widespread I'd guess it's not the patties.

They're thoroughly cooked and every restaurant couldn't have screwed that up.

I'd bet on the onions.

C'mon, as much as I dislike the convict, let's not get ahead of ourselves.
I'll now find a link that should have been provided.

I guessed it.

In a statement, McDonald’s officials said that initial findings suggest that some illnesses are linked to onions sourced from a single supplier. The company has halted distribution of the slivered onions and temporarily removed the Quarter Pounder from menus in the affected states, and also in portions of Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Onions are the only ingredient that isn't cooked.

That's very true. Whenever there's an outbreak affecting romaine lettuce and all products containing it at certain times of the year, it basically eradicates all romaine from the entire country for a time, because nearly all romaine in the US at certain points in the year comes from two farms, and those two farms are across the street from one another in Yuma, Arizona. If one farm gets infected, the other also always does. Pretty crazy that so much can come from one place. One has to wonder if the sourcing of McDonald's patties is that specific too. Hopefully this thing doesn't get any worse.

Not sure. Don't they put tomatoes and lettuce on their burgers? I haven't been in years, not sure. How about sauces?

Yes but they are prepped at the restaurant. The onions are centrally processed. One contaminated onion in that environment can be spread through a whole lot, especially if it's spread around by the cutting equipment.

Sauces are all heated to kill pathogens - any sauce (ketchup, mustard etc) all has to be before it's packaged.

Sadly, all this talk is making me hungry for a burger. But not at McDonald's.
A Quarter Pounder would go down nicely about now.

And come back up even faster!

Well, I have gone up a waist size recently so this would be guilt-free indulgence! :ROFLMAO:

Another clue might be that it seemed to be only the Quarter Pounder. The other burgers also have lettuce and tomatoes but weren't effected.

Only Quarter Pounders have slivered onion. Big Macs and cheeseburgers have chopped onion.

Why should the Trump cult be the only ones allowed to spread propaganda? Like: "They're eating the pets and many other things they're not supposed to!". <--- An authentic Trump quote.

So I get to say, Trump is E.coli patient zero!

Also, note the forum section I posted this.

I knew there was a reason I dislike onions except in my shrimp gumbo. But they are cooked down.

That’s how much weight you will lose from the yacking
