No, they didn't. Like you they were predicting that Trump would be stopped and forced to drop out of the race. Then when reality proved them wrong, they changed those goalposts and it became that he'll never get over 35% and as more people dropped out of the race he'd lose. When it was confirmed they were wrong yet again, whoopsie the goalpost changed again. He'd never get 1237 and he'd lose at the convention. Now they're pulling anything out their asses to deny just how wrong they are, and have been.
 
Uh, Texas is solidly in the GOP map; it's the purple and light blue states where expansion takes place!

That Trump cannot bag many or any of those states.
