“If We Stay Quiet They Crush Us”

There is no dialogue that is worth it, two do not dialogue if one does not want to and the dictatorship has been refusing for 64 years. Those times that the church has negotiated with the communist regime, have not brought the true benefit that the people long for, only some cosmetic concessions.

well as i hear, you can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.

what is happening is just a taste of what is coming world wide. all of world history is good vs evil; satan runs this world so he is going to enslave you any chance he gets. the left is very easy prey for this, but many conservatives don't get it either.

mankind has always been ruled by the rich elite oligarchy, they paint them selves in pretty colors and the Ignorant go for it because most would rather Die than Think.

The Castroist regime doesn't want dialogue, it never has. Because to dialogue would be to recognize the other side and its demands for changes and reforms that are against the will and interests of the regime. The regime is not willing to give in and has demonstrated it with the repression and imprisonment of hundreds of protesters who only asked for changes and more freedom.

A cross-denominational group of Cuban church leaders issued a public declaration calling for reform following a gathering that took place on 8 November in the province of Santiago de Cuba. The group, the Alliance of Christians of Cuba (ACC), is comprised of approximately 50 leaders of registered and unregistered religious denominations and networks as well as leaders of independent churches on the island.

The Santiago de Cuba Declaration includes specific calls for the release of political prisoners, increased respect for basic human rights, and protection of freedom of religion or belief (FoRB). ‘We ask the authorities of the Cuban nation: for the liberation of all those imprisoned for exercising their inherent rights. That each religious movement on the island might exercise its right to associate, obtaining legal status and protection under the law. That they respect the right of each Cuban citizen to exercise all their inherent rights and that they do not persecute them for this.’

In 2023 the Castro’s regime has been ranked as the 27th most dangerous country to be a Christian, and it was noted that leaders and members of several religious groups have been persecuted, arrested, interrogated and forced into exile.

Although more than 61% of Cuba's 11.3 million population are Christians (6.9 million), they are facing increasing persecution from Castro’s communist regime. Christian activists speaking out against corruption or political issues are arrested and imprisoned. The regime compiles a database of churches and pastors considered 'counterrevolutionaries, to monitor and control them.

Cuban priest Alberto Reyes, a strong critic of the Cuban dictatorship, has posted a new year’s message on Facebook in which he says many things that could get him arrested, such as denouncing the government for not being interested in the suffering of the Cuban people and warning that it is a certainty that it will NOT do anything to alleviate that suffering. As if this weren’t daring enough, he also compares Castro, Inc. to slavers who don’t want to free their slaves.

It is highly unusual for Castro, Inc. to tolerate any such criticism. Up until now it has not tried to do away with this troublesome priest, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t try to do so. If you are a praying person, pray for Father Reyes. Click on the link above to read his entire message in Spanish. Below is an excerpt.

I’ve been thinking about bets for the new year.
No matter how difficult the personal and social situation may be, it is common to have at least a glimmer of hope for ‘something better’ every time a year begins. 2023 has been hard, with a continuous crescendo not only in the difficulty of acquiring what is necessary to live but in the number of emigrants and the desperation to emigrate and in the apathy of the government, which increasingly ignores the day-to-day life of this people while mobilizing their energies towards control and repression.

Excellent reflection of Cuban priest Alberto Reyes. His words speak clearly about the situation of the country. May the New Year 2024 bring the long-awaited freedom to the Cuban people. His comparison of Castro’s regime to slavers could get him arrested and been force into exile.

Father Alberto Reyes

From our Bureau of Valiantly Troublesome Priests

Father Alberto Reyes is at it again, blasting away at the repressive dictatorship that has enslaved the Cuban people for the past 65 years. To some extent, his latest challenge to Castro, Inc.’s hegemony lays blame for the island’s enslavement on those Cubans who have been comfortable with the dictatorship’s paternalism. Basically, he’s telling Cubans to stop acting like little children.

A few weeks ago, he also blamed Cuba’s dictatorship for causing the “loss of values” that have created a recent crime wave. If you are a praying person, please pray for Father Reyes. Castro, Inc. is surely bound to punish his outspokenness. Read the full text of Father Alberto’s post below, loosely translated from CiberCuba.

“I’ve been thinking… (LVIII) by Alberto Reyes Pías

I’ve been thinking about ‘depaternalization’

Within the universe of what seems good, but is not, one of the jewels in the crown is paternalism: ‘I assume you, I support you, I take care of you.’ In theory it even seems tender, but it is destructive and malevolent.

According Father Alberto Reyes “Paternalism is a weapon of dominance and submission.” The regime boasts of being generous, but in reality sink the Cuban people in a miserable life. It is aware of the suffering of the people, but it does not care. Communism does the opposite of what it preaches, it is misery. Father Alberto Reyes tell like it is. He is a man faithful to his creed and principles; even at the risk of his live, a real man.

Basically, the regime has exile God. Generations of Cubans had grown up without God. They lack the values of Christian faith. The regime created a population of slaves. But Christianity is a religion that promise to free people.

More like the opposite. Religion enslaves people. Cubans seem to have been freed in that regard. Good on them.

After Hurricane Irma devastated part of the north coast of Cuba, religious organizations have faced great difficulties to provide humanitarian aid and support to hurricane victims. The Castroit regime denial of aid from religious organizations to hurricane victims is an act of injustice and oppression. The regime put politics ahead of the suffering of the Cuban people.
who remembers Irma … or Irene!

In an interview with EWTN Noticias, the Spanish-language sister service of EWTN News, Cuban priest Alberto Reyes spoke about his apostolic ministry in Camagüey province, located in the central area of the island, and about how his defense of religious freedom on the island has earned him friends and enemies alike.

Reyes did not hesitate to say that in Cuba “communism will not survive” and “the Church will remain.”

The Cuban priest works in Esmeralda, a small town “that was once flourishing,” according to EWTN Noticias correspondent Rachel Diez. Today, the daily life of the people is the same as that of many others in Cuba, one of “sadness, migration, and deprivation,” he commented.

Since his ordination, Reyes has always been involved with the peripheries of society, in areas that have been very poor, but with a community of faithful always willing to serve just as they are in Esmeralda.

The diocesan priest has been a critical voice against the extreme poverty and the repressive actions of the police state, since he himself has experienced both and has seen them in the lives of fellow Cubans.

Reyes shared that although he grew up in an environment close to the Church, he never thought about consecrating his life to Jesus. “There are people who say that I’m very brave, but that’s not true,” he said.

Father Alberto Reyes says that in Cuba “communism will not survive” and “the Church will remain.”. Since 1959 the Castroist regime has pursue an anti-religious agenda. In 1960 Christmas was banned on the island. The regime closed down more than 400 Catholic schools, persecuted, jailed and expels Catholic priest and nuns, and banned religious celebrations. In In 1976 the regime adopted a constitution which declared the country to be an atheist state. The strategies used by the regime has continuous unabated trying to crush Christians. But after 2,000 years Christianity is the world's largest religion and continues to prosper and grow.

are the people of cuba and north korea living in a free nation?

am i a slave in america because i am a christian?

Father Reyes says that “People are hungry. That Cuban paradise of television and international propaganda doesn’t exist.” Living conditions in Cuba had deteriorated due to food shortages, rise in prices, blackouts and repression of those that openly express their discontent. Cubans are living the country in unprecedented numbers, over 400,000 in the las two years.

Father Alberto Reyes has posted yet another essay in which he rails against the so-called “Revolution,” writing as if he were the entire Cuban nation. If you are a praying person, please pray for Father Reyes. He is skating on extremely thin ice. This was emailed to me without a link. Loosely translated below. The professor says: this is REQUIRED READING.

I have been thinking about questions I would ask as a nation:

What more do you want from me, Cuban Revolution? You seduced me many years ago, hypnotized me with lies, blinded me with dreams of joy, promises of freedom and justice. And I believed you, I surrendered to you, and I gave you everything: youth, efforts, sacrifices, even my family, my children.

But you were just lying, and while you smiled at me and encouraged me with words of progress, you slowly stripped me of everything, leaving me in the shameful nakedness of my broken present: a life in lies.
You broke my wings, kidnapped my dreams, dimmed my gaze, condemned my future, silenced my grievances. You distanced me from God and dried up my soul, and fueled by speeches of apparent altruism, you urged me towards violence, exclusion, and disdain: a life in hatred.

Excellent post by Father Alberto Reyes. He knows that his called for radical change in Cuba, he is risking heavy punishment from the Castroist communist regime. even risk of his live. The regime is not willing to give in and has demonstrated it with the repression and imprisonment of hundreds of protesters who only asked for changes and more freedom.
