In most states, it's legal for businesses to impose a surcharge on customers who are paying by credit card. One of those states is Florida.

The only requirement is that businesses must inform customers of those surcharges ahead of time. However, some Florida gas stations are testing that concept to an unfair limit.
I would say so. Around here may hit you for 50 cents on a card transaction, depending on the place. Or a minimal transaction to eat the fee.

Do have one Circle K(only one) which sign changes pretty rapidly displaying cash or card price as I pass by.

If you're that dumb, that's on you.

I never pay at pump period. Surely no skimmer on the keypad at register.

My experience is even if you use the gas station's credit card or even a gift card they will still charge you the credit card price. When they say 'cash' it has to BE cash.

Charged one price, period.

My local grocery store has a gas station and after I've spent X amount on groceries I will get 10-20 cents off per gallon for gas. I have an Exxon Mobil credit card but I never use it because the prices are always higher.

Seems some places eat it over a certain amount, some don't. My usual gas station is 2 bucks minimum on card purchases. Local liquor, asks if cash or credit. You're paying it... Both places Indian owned, but the one isn't eating your fee on the liquor.

Buck a gallon? Bullshit. Out of your mind. If you pay it, you deserve it. ONE transaction fee. Not a buck a gallon.

In Canada banks won't allow it. Safeway tried a 'minimum purchase' or pay a credit card fee for groceries. Royal Bank went in the same day and yanked all their pin pads in western Canada.

I've seen it 10 cents cheaper for cash, that's all. If they pull this $1 for a credit card purchase, go to the gas station that doesn't pull that *&^% and give them the business for being (more) honest (than the rest).

I keep some cash in the armrest for purchases under $20 or so but otherwise everything goes on plastic. My wife likes the bonus points and she pays the balance monthly on-line and I just assumed the card fee charged to the store is built into the price.
