Smoke em' if you got em'.

BTW, the Leafly strain of the year is "Super Boof", it sounds like a fun one.

Legalizing recreational cannabis at the state level does not increase substance use disorders or use of other illicit drugs among adults and, in fact, may reduce alcohol-related problems, according to new CU Boulder research.
The study of more than 4,000 twins from Colorado and Minnesota also found no link between cannabis legalization and increases in cognitive, psychological, social, relationship or financial problems.
“We really didn’t find any support for a lot of the harms people worry about with legalization,” said lead author Stephanie Zellers, who began the research as a graduate student at CU Boulder’s Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG). “From a public health perspective, these results are reassuring.”
For the study, published Jan. 5, in the journal Psychological Medicine, researchers at the University of Minnesota, CU Boulder and the CU Anschutz Medical Campus tapped data from two of the nation’s largest and longest-running twin studies: one housed at IBG and the other at the Minnesota Center for Twin Family Research.

Researchers have followed participants, now aged 24 to 49, since adolescence, collecting data on use of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis (aka “marijuana”), and several illicit drugs, as well as measures of “psychosocial health.”

Studies are what they are. Are you looking for science or looking for support for a particular viewpoint?

Would you let your kid play in the street with cars? Wonder who funds these studies that says pot is not harmful?

I have no idea if long term use of pot is harmful, I do wonder however why so many people feel the need to be high. I have an acquaintance who stays buzzed all day, I can't help
but wonder what is so bad in life that he can't get through the day without it.

If you don't like it, don't use it.

Its legal where I live!
Lots of things are legal that shouldn't be in someone's opinion. Many things are not, that some think should be. The goal of government should always be to protect rights, but to protect the citizenry and sometimes that means choosing to restrict some things. How many die every year from drunk drivers? The arguments on both side are many, but good sense should prevail. The political supporters of legalized marijuana are generally people making a profit off it. Do you think they care about user's health? Remove the opinions of 16 - 30 years olds, studies show us they have terrible judgement. Do you want your kids smoking?

What is that guy is driving a car or a bus, or getting ready to step into a operating room at the local hospital? Follow the money as they say.

Hope you never go through chemotherapy, my wife did, and cannabis was an enormous help, the anti nausea meds made her feel much worse. Rick Simpson Oil gummies kept her feeling good.

I get it, you don't like cannabis, too bad.

I do. And its legal and none of your finger wagging is gonna do a damned thing.

I'm with you.
I went through chemo treatment 15 years ago and THC gummies and smoking some bud helped tremendously in getting through it.
Even now I still do enjoy a hit or two some nights as it is very helpful with sleep.
The idea that weed is a gateway drug to other more dangerous drugs is a myth.

OT but why the **** isnt Biden taking this off the scheduled drug list? Or adding it to the proper one now? Even if it has to be an EO at this point.

The lack of banking access that pot shops have to deal with means they have a lot of cash on hand and are very high risk for robberies...people have been killed here.

Edit: anybody know what RFK's stance is on this? I only ask because if Biden made the EO, RFK might convince mango MAGAt magnet to not reverse it if he supports it.

Both of my kids are adults, and both smoke cannabis at times. I imagine my son found it helpful during his chemotherapy.
