Breitbart.tv ‘06 Flashback: Pelosi Tells Anti-War Protesters ‘I’m a Fan of Disruptors’

My how times have changed.

You posted a link so I guess we're supposed to watch and comment on what we see, right?

It's an edited video so it's hard to get sense of the context--that is, the timing, the tone, the length of the interruption, etc. And someone has placed text on the video, I guess expressing their point of view and highlighting what they think is important. Bully for them.

However, from what I can tell, there was a period where Pelosi was speaking and I assume answering questions because it says 'Town Hall' but she may have just been speaking... Then there was an interruption--not too loud or really that disruptive, but it didn't seem to go on that long. In fact, the protesters were allowed to quietly stand at the front of the room with their signs while Pelosi continued to speak. There was one other interruption, (the woman in front) a little more aggressive, but things did not spiral out of control.

So, yes, they briefly disrupted the meeting then were allowed to stay. They didn't seem all that hostile or angry, and overall the room controlled itself. Maybe in San Fran they're more seasoned protestors and have some unwritten protest protocol.

Ironically, war involves the sacrifice of lives, the killing of innocents, great pain and suffering for those involved. And this protest or brief 'disruption' seemed relatively modest compared to some of recent the Town Halls regarding proposed health care legislation.

I'm sure other people might view the video differently and say Pelosi is a hypocrite or whatever, but if you honestly put things in perspective, war vs. proposed legislation--I don't see the big deal here.

If you really want to make an analogy and compare this to the recent Town Halls, then it would be like anit-war protestors showing up prior to the Iraq invasion and demanding that we stop killing all the babies in the entire middle east and stop spending tax dollars to pay the armed forces.

There were plenty of war protesters saying exactly that. Besides, why do you say the analogy must have such a wide brush?
