if somebody fell from a ship, what would you shout?

That actually depends on which nation they're registered in? Or are there none who consider ships male. Edit: Apparently it's a matter of language? https://www.oldsaltblog.com/2019/04/are-ships-she-he-or-it-and-does-it-matter/

if somebody fell from a ship, what would you shout?

It's not the ocean I'm necessarily worried about. It's the cruise ship. From everything I've heard about them, it's an experience I don't want.

if somebody fell from a ship, what would you shout?

I mean, I decided awhile ago not to ever go on a cruise ship, and so far I've managed it. Who knows what future holds though.

if somebody fell from a ship, what would you shout?

Probably whatever I was trained to shout. If I wasn't trained, which is currently the case, probably I'd shout the first thing that popped to mind, which seems like it'd be "man overboard", because movies and such.

Army Expanding Pre-Basic Training Prep Courses to Bring in More Soldiers and Curb Recruiting Crisis

Interesting. I suppose it's easier (and cheaper) to add this pre-training training rather than update the basic training itself. Part of me is curious what they train, and why less people haven't been able to meet the recruiting standards of late.

Wait. So Republicans in Arizona's House have repealed the 1864 Abortion law (waiting for their Senate) so that women can murder SOME babies??

Don't expect things like accurate terminology and reasoned rhetoric from those who don't care about them.

Wait. So Republicans in Arizona's House have repealed the 1864 Abortion law (waiting for their Senate) so that women can murder SOME babies??

It's only murder if you legally define it as such. Because murder is a legal term. That's semantics of course. In the end, it's only killing, murder, or whatever you want to call it...if you believe it is. And unless you're a dictator, you only have the one vote each election to express that...

I see other boards saying "The left needs to handle the anti-Semitism NOW!" Since when was the left the anti-Semites? Nazis are not left.

It's been this way for awhile. Israel and the US lobbyists they hire and/or the supporters they have often try to conflate opposition to various specific actions of that nation with anti-Semitism.

Harvard poll of young people: Student debt and Israel/Palestine are the least important issues

I've heard that polling is a bit less accurate of late.

Americans more unsafe under Biden than at anytime before

If we have an elevated threat level, I for damn sure want Biden and his team on the job, and not the utterly misguided ****wits that Trump had running the place. And that's not even getting into those who I strongly suspect were malicious in their intent, rather than misguided. Like Stephen...

Predict tRump's hush money trial verdicts

Why does the media keep calling it a "hush-money trial"? He's not on trial for paying hush money, he's on trial for falsifying business records to hide that he paid it. Edit: Example: https://www.npr.org/2024/04/15/1238536885/trump-hush-money-trial 1st sentence: 4th sentence:

Should schools be allowed to teach sex education in schools?

Allowed? They should be required to. Edit: Options 1, 3, and 4 are a matter of opinion or religious belief - Perhaps with option 4 you could mention that having two parents helps a child in various ways, but at some point you're straying into a discussion about economics and personal finance...

Biden’s war on dishwashers and washing machines hits a snag

I personally think that looks just fine, although I'd be a bit scared of falling and getting impaled on the pipes.

Columbia rabbi tells Jewish students to leave campus, warns that school, NYPD 'cannot guarantee your safety'

Technically, the thread is about a person claiming that jewish students will not be safe on the Columbia campus.

Do liberals actually believe that there are no innate behavioral differences between men and women?

Where are you getting these wild off the wall ideas?
