    Are the extremists winning?

Another foul post. Debate politics is becoming a cesspit.

Is the whole Charlie Kirk shooting a hoax from the gop and he's secretly alive and laughing his arse off?

New day and I have just read the piece that Kirk wrote for the Spectator about Students at Cambridge and Oxford. Well judged and all too accurate. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/a-revolution-is-coming-to-the-uk/

Charlie Kirk has now become famous

What a nasty comment, stinking of malice and self-importance.

Charlie Kirk has now become famous

I hope you become famous if that is what you want. Though being murdered at the age of 31 is not - in my opinion - the best way to achieve renown.

If you think of Britain, what comes to your mind then?

The UK has an enormous number of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian and Greek restaurants. Bland? More coffee than tea is now drunk in the UK.

If you had to go live in Europe, which country would you choose/

That's about right. I'm glad you recognise reality, even if you are a little too kind to the Tories..

the Pantheon in Paris only mentions men

In Swedish Man = man- It also means 'husband' and is also used for the English 'one' - as in 'One should always carry an umbrella in Manchester'.

    A morality play from 1912.

Pleasence was born in 1919 so did not act in a pay in 1912. Brisket is a joint of beef and does not go well with a cup of tea.

Nigel Farage has already seized power in Great Britain - David Williamson, Express

During WWII neither I nor anyone I knew in England found the BBC to be the least bit boring. We listened to every news broadcast with near religious devotion. Joyce deserved execution. I thought so at the time and have not changed my mind in the subsequent 80 years.

Nigel Farage has already seized power in Great Britain - David Williamson, Express

Lord Haw Haw - William Joyce - was hanged for his treason during WWII. Do you think that Nigel Farage should be hanged?

Nigel Farage has already seized power in Great Britain - David Williamson, Express

My wife and I agree that if we still lived in the UK one would vote Conservative - we both like Badenoch, who is making the best of the bad hand she has been dealt, - and the other Reform.

Some on the Political Right Want to Rehabilitate...Adolf Hitler. This Isn't a Joke.

'Rehabilitating' Hitler is awful thing. So, of course, is rehabilitating Stalin or Mao.

Nigel Farage has already seized power in Great Britain - David Williamson, Express

Setting an agenda and 'seizing power' are two very different things.

Father Ted creator Graham Linehan arrested over posts on transgender issues

Or perhaps Met officers at the airport were having a boring day. Amazingly even PM Starmer has said they exceeded their authority.

What makes you the most hopeful (for a happy future)?

A famous first line of a novel by LP Hartley read "The past is a foreign country they do things differently there". For the very old it can be the present which is foreign and mostly incomprhensibe. Sometimes the nostalgia for a world that is gone for ever is almost overwhelming.
