U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

Which is why the background check would remain a part of the process.

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

Enhancing the process seems to me, prudent. Also, I was responding to the poster who does not trust ANY federal administration.

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

It has not been enforced, correct. It still remains part of the process in spite of any waivers. I get what you are saying. I don't think any potential information is singularly responsible for the final decision. It is a "piece of the puzzle".

Yeah, yeah, we know. Everything you don't like is akin to nazis. Yawn! A penchant for strawmen it seems!

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

How long did it take BEFORE the Trump administration? "Needs to be"? Who decides? The democratically passed legislation? Enforcement of said laws? Do you apply this sentiment to other aspects of government? Would the federal government controlling healthcare make it "harder and more painful...

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

Frankly, neither do I. What would be the other option to the enhanced vetting? Just waving them through? Since you would not trust the federal government background checks etc.

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

It is a PART of the process apparently. Of course everything should be taken in full context with regard to potential biases etc. Maybe the resources will remain at similar levels, slowing down the necessary vetting process.

Grandfather accused of drugging Dairy Queen blizzards given to grandchildren

Amazing how you come to such a stupid conclusion based on what is in that article. Would it be different if the drugs involved were hormone blockers? LOL @ u!

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

What is an "immigrant neighborhood"? Do you assume they all live together? You leftists are insufferable. There is no correlation here.

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

Apply? Yes. Automatically grant without fully vetting? No.

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

How is enforcing laws currently on the books against the constitution? Maybe. Double-dipping might make sense from and efficiency standpoint. Law has been around for a LONG time. Perhaps. Another added bonus to enforcing this long standing, democratically passed legislation. No, I mean the...

Train station takeover? Trump administration to take control of DC's Union Station

No. Totally absurd premise. Can someone camp in your yard?

U.S. to resume "neighborhood checks" for citizenship applications as part of Trump push to heavily vet immigrants

This seems to be a step in the right direction with regard to the legal immigration process. Just enforce the law as already written. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/neighborhood-checks-citizenship-applications/ Updated on: August 26, 2025 / 4:01 PM EDT / CBS News " The Trump...

trump cancels funding, about $5 billion, for California high speed rail

Owning a vehicle provides a much greater level of freedom of movement. Something most of us in the USA value and treasure. Hard for you limeys to understand, I get it. Being under the boot for so much longer can do that. Great, that works for London. Dense population, narrow and poorly...

Train station takeover? Trump administration to take control of DC's Union Station

Indeed. As it (camping in public parks) should be. Did someone say it being poor should be a crime?
