The Failure of the War on Poverty

You obviously didn't even pay attention to the link I posted.. You're figures are entirely wrong.. the poverty rate hasn't been 22% since the great depression. Exactly, poverty has remained the same.. after multiple generations, Johnson's "Great Society" has not only failed to lift people out...

The Failure of the War on Poverty

http://www.census.gov/hhes/poverty/histpov/hstpov13.html Quit spoutin off false rhetoric. Take a look around we've had the same exact poverty rate for the past 25 years, despite adding in new "entitlement" programs, and "education entitlements". Entitlements AREN'T working. there are more...

We have got to have a tax increase.

... cutting the budget down to barebones, and using rebuilding jobs as an incentive for aid programs doesn't do anything about the deficit?

DeLay DeClares that there's nothing left to cut in the budget.

First and Foremost... McCain's a blowhard... any should be taken with a grain of salt. I agree that the Highway bill should be scrapped and rewritten at half the budget. In fact I agree that EVERY Bill passed in the last year should be re-evaluated and made to cut at least 5%. I also think...

We have got to have a tax increase.

I think cutting the current budget and instilling workfare programs is a lot more practical and efficient than throwing money at any evacuee who has a frown on their face and expecting the tax payers to cover all the extra expense without any sort of federal fiscal responsibility in other areas.

We have got to have a tax increase.

If we slimmed down the aid package, cutout the fat from the Highway Bill, put the able bodied people of new orleans to work rebuilding their own city in a workfare program, scrapped a huge amount of the NASA budget, and collected the money Mexico owes us for babysitting their illegals... we'd be...

The Failure of the War on Poverty

The handout feature characterized not only the programs that gave away cash and material resources like food and housing; it was also incorporated in programs that provided training, education, and rehabilitation. Recipients did not have to make any significant sacrifice to be admitted to them...

    Osama's letter to America.

I just hope we don't kill him and post pictures on the news like a trophy, then he'd become a motivational symbol, a martyr. I hope that a navy seal slits his throat, buries him in the sand, and we don't hear word one about it until people start wondering why he hasn't popped up on the radar for...

    Osama's letter to America.

I knew... I've read it before. No big surprise. They want to kill all of us because we're not islamic, we have bases in the middle east, and because our culture permits things like homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, gambling, and other such vices under the guise of freedom. Yeah.. no surprise...

    Osama's letter to America.

Apparently he's not a big fan of Wall St either. Ashamed... I always thought that was one of Michael Douglas's better movies.

    Overpopulated with illegals

How dare you even consider such a bigoted idea? you ignorant racist! That man went through all the trouble of hopping across our border and making his way to your hometown to pick fruit, he shouldn't be have to be held responsible for any problems he causes or petty US laws he breaks :rolleyes...

    Illegal Immigration

Re: Immigrants do not overwhelm healthcare - study It's gonna take a major SARS or Ebola outbreak in this country to wake people up to the serious risks involved in not enforcing immigration legislation.
