Various reactions among different generational groups over COVID-19

The huge irony in all of this to me is that the older generation that spent 10-15 years telling broke millennials who wanted help to pull themselves up by their bootstraps is now pleading with the same age group, which by now, has probably recovered financially to a large extent and are somewhat...

Various reactions among different generational groups over COVID-19

Has anyone else noticed that certain groups by age seem to be reacting completely differently than others? I notice that older people are taking it more seriously, and people under 20 seem to be taking it more seriously. This is my theory, middle-aged groups are desensitized to the media...

Type 2 Diabetes is preventable, curable, and reversible if reacted to appropriately

... change my mind. We treat type 2 diabetes the same as type 1. Type 1 = a person is hypoinsulinemic. Type 2 = a person is hyperinsulinemic. Prevailing treatment for both conditions: give the person more insulin. Correct treatment for type 1: give the person more insulin. Correct treatment...

NRA executive suggests slain Charleston pastor to blame for gun deaths

Well, I think we all know who is going to be on the next cover of Rolling Stones magazine! :shoot

Boston bomber Tsarnaev sentenced to death for 2013 attack

I do think bacon is magic... on my tongue. I don't think it makes him go to hell, but it would certainly remove the perceived glory of being a mass murderer caused by things like getting on the cover of Rolling Stone if the attack is done in the name of Islam. He will die a martyr in some...

Boston bomber Tsarnaev sentenced to death for 2013 attack

People are killed by other people every day. Very few of them deserve it as much as this guy does. Lethal injection is so 1982. I say drown his ass in a vat of lukewarm bacon grease.

How does getting new health insurance, and using it, work now? (USA)

I currently have high-deductible health insurance. We are currently in open enrollment for 2015, which ends December 15th if I have correct information. Is it true that pre-existing conditions are no longer a factor for the prices of health insurance premiums? What if I were to know I...

Man gives change to homeless person, is handcuffed and held by police for an hour

Yes because making it illegal to give change to bums will definitely stop them from asking for change. That's gun law logic. Plus, if you feel like there needs to be some punishment in the interaction of bumming on the sidewalk, that isn't unreasonable, but when you have a beggar and a...

If you could change ONE existing law...

I never meant to imply that asset forfeiture was a portion of your paycheck, sir. I apologize if I confused you on that point. Actually, my analogy in relation to a lack of commission for sales specialists at Lowe's, yet they are held accountable for sales, was my way of trying to make that...

Man gives change to homeless person, is handcuffed and held by police for an hour

I agree that many panhandlers want the money for drugs or alcohol. No debate there. However, we have a problem. The problem is that what someone does with money voluntarily given to them by a stranger is, generally, not our business. If you feel as if someone is trying to ask for a handout...

    Just sentence, or too harsh?

It is technically treason to violate an oath made to the U.S. to defend the constitution. This extends to anyone who is o active duty or ex-military since they take similar oaths. Police, and lawyers do too in many cases. If you think death is unreasonable, just imagine what it must be like...

If you could change ONE existing law...

If I could change one law. I would make it legal for states to secede from the union so they could get away from the monstrosity the federal government is becoming.

If you could change ONE existing law...

I think you might be on to something here, but something similar is done sometimes, but when it is, it is explicitly stated in the law. A sunset clause would be good, but there are a lot of things that wouldn't need it. Theft, murder, rape, and other similar crimes obviously don't need...

You've seized assets from people because it is your job. I'm not saying you're proud of all of those seizures, but nonetheless, it is your job. You did receive profit off of it. You get a paycheck, right? One of my several jobs is at Lowe's, and Lowe's has people who they call "sales...

I'd like to clarify, that civil asset forfeiture happens even when the person is arrested and found not guilty or even charged. A trip to jail in handcuffs for any reason = automatic theft of your property by the government. It's not just about drug dealers.
